Solo friendly EndGame?

slowz2secretslowz2secret Member RarePosts: 445
Hello, I'm looking for a mmorpg to play, the thing is I play mostly solo, I don't like to be in a guild and use discord and these things, the question is, is there an mmorpg where you can do end game content without guild or premade teams, like matchmaking/raid finder to do raids/dungeons etc, I know ffxiv is very solo friendly but the end game to do savage raids and so on you need premade or guild because it do not have raid finder etc, black desert is very solo friendly for end game but i don't like how p2w it is, I can pay for things but it is too exagerated, ESO is same as ffxiv it do not have raid finder or things like that for end game, I played osrs and rs3 for long time, best solo friendly game yet but i need something new^^ I know it is hard because these contents are for group etc but I'm here in hope there is an mmo that have these things for solo players.

Do wow have raid finder? I was thinking you need like a tryhard guild to do raid and these endgame things

Wow does have Raidfinder but only on it's own difficulty which provides gear lower item level than the gear you would get from normal / mythic difficulty (which you can only do in raids)

City of Heroes sounds like a match. Lots of teams looking for people in pick-up groups. And if you are too low, you can be sidekicked to let you play anyway. Probably the best casual teaming game I've ever seen.

Better off playing D4 if you want to solo while also having a challenge.

FFXIV does have a party finder where players can manually list the content they are doing and find other members to join for that session. I see pickup groups forming all the time for savage and extreme content and have cleared some of them myself that way as I am also a mostly solo player. You can definitely do all the end game content without being part of any set group, but of course, getting a group together may take longer and you may not be successful in clearing every time.

Yea. It's separate from the automated duty finder. Some groups are labeled as practice where everyone is still learning the fight, so you can join one of those groups or start your own. You can see an example in the link below.

Regardless, why would you seek such a thing in an MMO? Aren't there better genres out there for what you are looking for?

I mean why no? playing solo is a preference, there are mmo's that offer contents for solo players. I like to play in games that feels alive, contant updates etc so mmo's are perfect for that.

I could have sworn ESO did have a dungeon finder, but perhaps not for the 12 person raids?

WoW is literally a raidlogging simulator, all forms of solo gear reward trash gear that is like 30-40 ilvls below max.
The only "solo" path you can argue is farming gold to buy boosts xD

For a more solo friendly mmo I would suggest new world, you can get max power gear without touching group content, though you might want to do an occasional dungeon just to get the heartrunes, but it is quite easy and the grind to 625 power level can be done through many ways from getting gypsum from crafting to gathering to pve and pvp

Now that is actually solo friendly

In Fairness, many (most?) mmorpg's have solo content all the way up.

It's odd that "all of a sudden" they become group games.

    Absolutely poor design.

I was going to say the same.  D4 has many of the MMO properties it sounds like he is looking for and most of the drawbacks are around how not MASSIVELY multiplayer its gameplay is.

Pretty well all of them have a "solo endgame" if you want it. What none of them have is a solo endgame with the same rewards as a group endgame nor should they.

And when the classes play one way then all of a sudden they get a passive or a skill that makes them play completely differently. Amazing design, huh.

Yeah, true. If you want the same gear as someone that actually plays in a group ... why would you? You 100% don't need it.

I would mostly agree except you really can't complete the storyline quests in Burning Sands without grouping up to complete the harder dungeons. (Well, unless that changed recently)

You don't need to complete them to earn decent gear as you mentioned.

Yeah gating the last 4 or 5 quests of Burning Sands, which are also part of the set-up for future content with the Sand Worm, behind the completion of the Ennead expedition is another one of those NW developmental WTF moments.

well it do not have for raids, you need to go to a specific area and try to get group from random people that are looking for raids etc

Game has a really good foundation, when it launched it lacked in many areas but the devs have improved it quite a lot since then, game still has the best crafting/gathering out there, if you are into that you ll end up spending a lot of time purely on these two.

They also finally added some story considering the story at launch might not even exist cuz nobody read walls of lore text, brimstone sands story was quite good, hopefully we ll see more.

Game has action combat and some builds, they are adding more weapons slowly, expecting a lot more content when they launch their xpac.

Which quests are you talking about exactly?

The only thing that required a group was ennead quest which i kept for many weeks and only reason I ve decided to do it was to get that last glyph.

Everything else I did solo and wasnt even 625 when I did it, and quite sure you dont need the ennead quest to finish the main burning sands story. And i literally got to 625 by farming gypsum from multiple sources and solo dailies, sulfur chests and occasional chest run.

There's also that bitjet elite quest but you end up doing it via chest runs which i wouldnt really consider serious group content since the only thing you have to do is type "x" when they start the invites in general chat and then just follow and loot everything xd

And thus it is not a solo friendly game since it treats casuals/solo players as 2nd class citizens
