You can now play Marvel Heroes Omega

Looks like there is a way to play Marvel Heroes Omega now via emulator. Not sure how long it will be up or if it will get finished but there is a way to play it I guess for those who want to take the chance.

At the moment you can't do anything other than wander around an empty game world. There is no play to be had, yet at any rate. Maybe it will eventually become as the game but they have a long, long way to go.

I feel like even if you could reverse engineer the complete game and not have it taken down, it's never going to capture that feeling of Midtown Mondays with lots of people that the official game did.

That's a lot of text for a video, can I suggest a text release?

They don't plan to put the game up once completed, but instead have players run it locally according to the provided instructions. It will be more Ghost Town all days.

It is open source and they will let others handle the risks of making a public server.  They are designing it to work as a server, not just local emulator.  This means logins and account storage.

Also, I had already made a thread on this. weeks ago, in the proper subsection for private servers/emulators

I was talking about what can be done with it now, not what may be possible way off down the line.

None of what could happen with the game matters until there is an actual game things could happen to.

I just wish this could some how return in some sort of official capacity. Like, its neat that they've got it running as they currently do, even if severely limited. Its progress right? But I always feel better on something official rather than a private server.

If this game came back my poor wife and child would miss me.

Strip the Marvel out of it and make it a custom hero fantasy world. The core game is the fun part. Marvel made a neat skin but it isn't required in my opinion.

Like many games include pubg mobile which quite good on mobile but not on emulator
it is lagging all the time even if the pc specs are good as i check World of warcraft which is very good on my pc.

I mean, without a populated patrol zone experience, the game is kind of just a slightly above average ARPG with a lot of characters. The MMO-lite experience was what made it special.

Did Gamigo get the rights to this during the Trion acquisition? At least I think Trion bought the rights to the game before they went under.

I believe they bought the assets but we're never provided the licensing. So they couldn't do anything with the game unless they reskinned and renamed everything in the game.

Which makes you wonder if it would have been worth it if marvel heroes didn't have marvel characters.

Oof, with decisions like that, it makes more sense why Trion ended up failing.
