Biggest Announcements from Today's Nintendo Direct | MMORPG.com
Today's Nintendo Direct showed off a number of new titles to look forward to coming to Nintendo Switch. MikeBC highlights the day's biggest announcements.
Eiyuden Chronicles; which is coming out on various different platforms, including Windows PC, Steam, Xbox, Ps5, Ps4, AND now the Switch, carried this whole Direct.
That's pretty embarrassing for nintendo when a cross-platform game originally designed for PC is what is the most interesting part of that show.
Fishing on Gilgamesh since 2013 Fishing on Bronzebeard since 2005 Fishing in RL since 1992 Born with a fishing rod in my hand in 1979
Unicorn Overlord (stupid name for a game) looks good, and I trust Vanillaware after the incredible 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim.
And of course Eiyuden Chronicles looks like one of the best games of 2024.
Never could get into SaGa because of how goddamn fugly it always is. But the characters actually resemble humans rather than inbred Kermit-the-frog-esque humanoids this time, so that's a good step and it might be a good game.
Not quite as spectacular as previous Directs. I also still own Paper Mario on Gamecube so no rush to get this one, even though it is absolutely amazing and a must buy for those who haven’t experienced it yet.
Talking about amazing Gamecube games on Switch, the Baten Kaitos 1 & 2 Remaster just launched. Get it.

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.
It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.
It is just huge resource waste....'

Unfortunately the best GC RPG (Path of Radiance) probably won't get its remake for a long time, if they keep tackling its series in release order.
I didn't much read this announcement, saw some text I didn't care for. All I'd actually care for is Nintendo exclusives, either from the past now on Switch, so I could buy them on my current console without hooking up past consoles (cheaply) or pc ports (Zelda) so I can play them with a mouse and keyboard, and actually play them.
Considering my NES is attached to one of my TVs, I'd say my loyalty is warranted. DITCH these shitty consoles or freaking come into the next era.

If you had asked me beforehand the chance of PoR being remastered would have been infinitely higher on my list of ‘could happen’ then the BK games.
Personally I am not into the Fire Emblem series at all so BK definitely trumps it for me. And Skies of Arcadia Legends trumps BK. I also think the Fire Emblem series can pretty much be experienced on every Nintendo console and Baten Kaitos and Skies of Arcadia are Gamecube bound (and Dreamcast for the latter), the second BK didn’t even release in Europe. Now how about those Eternal Darkness and Starfox Adventures remasters?

They are definitely holding everything back for the Switch 2 now. The best thing about that Direct was a 15 year old game.
Yep that is pretty much obvious now. So they have to gear up for some form of official announcement this Spring with either a possible release already end this year or Early next year (same time as Switch 1).
Still don't understand Nintendo though. This whole year now is pretty abysmal, even for Nintendo. They could have easily released some easy straight up low effort ports from WiiU, like Zelda Wind Waker HD and/or Zelda Twilight Princess HD, as gap filler games this year.
This direct ended up being retroactively great because Unicorn Overlord ended up being the best tactics RPG in almost 20 years, and solidly landed into my top 3-5 games of all time.
