Like I said in the other thread... 3 year development. Starting in 2025. $30M budget. Sounds like Ashes of Creation kickstarter.
Right now its in a phase of ideas... not even "Pre-Production".
While I would LOVE a new EQ.. nothing I see makes me believe this will release as a real EQ3. The budget, the timeline and even the company all point toward dissapointment. But who knows.. one day one of these moonshots have to land.

They have tried to make EQ3 something like 5 times. Everquest Next was just the last in a long line of failed attempts. Who knows, many concept art and many other features of EQ3 development many be salvaged.
Daybreak don't hold high high hopes in my book but none the less. I am interested in hearing more. EQ1 was my first MMO love.

I honestly wouldn't put it in the same camp as something like Ashes simply because they still do have EQ Next assets just laying around. When you think about Daybreak and how they handle EQ1/2 expansions (by pretty much shifting existing assets around to make 'new content'), that kind of seems like the most logical thing plus the budget feels a little too big for it to be a mobile game (like NCSoft did with Blade and Soul 2/Aion 2).
I'm surprised no one is just going to the Everquest forums to get all of this information, because it's been there for a while now by the looks of it.
Also there is a Everquest show that started 4 years ago on Youtube, they dive into the topic of the next EQ game quite often.
Here is Episode 19.
ALSO, i feel like people need to understand a bit about the newest 'Acting' CEO 'Ji Ham'
Understanding who this person is a bit more may help contextualize the giant mess of mistakes Daybreak could very well be making pretty soon with the game projects they have coming.

WHen we realize that EQ2 was released in 2004 (19 years ago!) it pretty much puts a damper on EQ3..... Also I am pretty sure there isnt a single person in Daybreak that had anything to do with the first 2 Everquests......I imagine they will try to sell us things before the release of the game, make what money they can, and then scrap the project (like when they used Everquest Next to get people to buy Landmark).
The downfall of EQ2 was the Sony cash station store. How will the cash station store evolve in EQ3? Will they take out the store or keep it? How could they reintegrate it in a new way?

Seems it's keeps going back to the fact, gamers are tried of looking like a nothing but a wallet to game development companies. Sure miss the days when you paid for a game for a fair price.
Why? A re-skin, some new quests and some graphic upgrades is all you really need. No need to waste 30mill.

Remember back in the days when companies didn’t sit around and talk shit all day about what they want to do.. and they just went and did it? Those were the days, they didn’t talk about their budget or how many years just to test the waters to see if their was interest… they just made games that were fun and interesting to play.. plus they were unique and challenging.

Now, the industry is just utter trash.
I found out about EQ 1999 by the employee at EB games as he was setting up the display for the game.
