Its..fun, until you die few times, Then it start feeling ..meh, because in my case, been there, done that many times, before HC, aka leveling.

But hey, to each his own! :)

While HC is definitely not my thing it makes me happy to see this stat because it means people are playing the game and having fun. It's good to see a company take a risk to serve an underserved demographic of players and get some traction with it. Also, it lets us tell all the "MMOs are too easy" whiners to shut up and go play HC WoW. Thank you, Blizzard!

What's the point of playing online game, let alone MMO, in a hardcore mode?

Who knows, but lots of people enjoy it for some reason, see posts about folks in 7D2D setting up hardcore challenges with perma death and loving it

    Weird.

    :)

You know me, I am the Hardcore guy, but this just don't make any sense to me. Risk your (large) time investment to a lag spike. ???

I hate hardcore in ARPGs, but WOW classic leveling, on certain classes, is perfect in HC.  Dying to lag is pretty rare unless you have a bad ISP.  In which case, you shouldn't do HC.

I definitely am not a fan of doing dungeons or end game content in HC though.

I was in a guild once where one of the players would take a character to max level to only delete it and start over.

He enjoyed levelling up characters more than anything else so that is what he perpetually chose to do.

Perhaps he would have found hardcore appealing.

Some people find it fun, either because they enjoy the extra challenge of reaching max level with that condition or the risk of playing hardcore is itself what they enjoy.

I see the point of permadeath in EVE.

There you can get a clone and if your character dies, your clone takes over. So its a question of proper preparation and proper investment.

However I'm sorry, in WoW its just silly.

You are literally supposed to die a lot in MMORPGs like WoW when you fight raidbosses. Until you have figured out the correct strategy, and nobody makes an error.

Well, to each their own. But to me it sounds like you are literally ASKING for a /ragequit once you lost your character to a game crash, lag, falling off a cliff by accident, etc.
