No Recovery Email? LoTRO

nate1980nate1980 Member UncommonPosts: 2,072
I haven't played LoTRO since 2018, so I don't remember my account name and password. I do know the email, since I still have my receipt for the expansion I pad for back then. I requested a recovery email for my account name but I haven't received one. I'm reading on Steam that others had the same problem. Does anyone know what's going on here?

You might have to ask support, especially if you can prove the purchase but I would make sure it didn't get spammed or something.

I had a similar issue with other games in the past and support helped even if it did take a few weeks

I created a new account. I logged in and made a character. Once I got to the character select screen, I went to options and changed the graphics to Ultra, and the game went black screen and minimized. I've tried every trouble-shooting technique out there and also uninstalled/reinstalling the game. Nothing works. It always goes black screen and minimizes after I hit play.

I'm done with it. It's not worth the hassle. Thank you for the advice though.

Even though you've given up I'll still respond quickly.

Assuming you checked the spam/junk folder then I wouldn't be shocked if they messed it up.

I've heard they outsource customer service and in my experience they are quick to close tickets.  Say for instance if you put in a ticket on a new account but weren't online when the CS agent got to you.  They would insta close the ticket rather than move it back in the queue.

They lose lots of people over trouble with installs or accounts and I really don't know what they'll do when they lose the LOTRO license.  As I don't believe the DDO license is enough to keep a company open.

I think this could be problem where you have to go into your setting files in your game folder and set the resolution to what you want then saving it, then going back into the game to increase the other settings.

There's a lot of things being stolen at standing stone games. If you or anyone is having an issue with their accounts , specifically life time account, please make a BBB.org report.

Then create a new account and see when your character was last logged in. For me who's been battling this for 4 years, I decided to check on my character. It was logge din 05/05/23 . Someon has stolen my account.

It's my opinion that the player support staff have been selling accounts to gold-farms, and when we try and regain the account they stone wall us until "we go away".

IF you see your character was logged in when you weren't, you can file a complaint att he IC3.org which is internet crimes for the FBI.

Apparently you are unable to prove you are the original account holder to SSG. No amount of consumer complaining will change the outcome.

As for SSG selling people's lifetime accounts to gold farmers, there a sale on tin foil right now at Walmart, better pick up a few rolls

if 5000 life time accounts were criminally taken, here is a kind of a estimated criminal charge in connecticut, each state that would prosecute each case and charges will vary.

    1st degree

Damage to or the value of the property or computer services is over $10,000

B felony (up to 20 years in prison, a fine of up to $15,000, or both)

People may be naysayers or poker funners, but at some point when do we start holding companies accountable ? It's a Lifetime account, the game isn't dead and niether are the account holders.
I mean I get ya but at this point wouldn't be worth the legal fees. Game blows now anyway.
