I've a few more observations on Fractured Online.
I tried to post this in the Fractured Online sub forum, but apparently one doesn't exist.
- The reds can be a bit brazen in the general chat but for all the bravado, they cannot hide the terror they feel when it comes to being jailed by a sheriff. I'll often see comments like "Thanks for not jailing me" and so forth. The system seems to be keeping them in check and this certainly isn't the UO '98 free for all that I was afraid it would become.
- The population has dropped off significantly as people try the game and those that don't appreciate it leave. This seems to be well within the ebb and flow of an Early Access title. A major update is supposed to drop this month.
- For me, I've anxiety about making gold as I'm finding it a bit of a struggle to jump from 5-7 tier mobs to 7-9 tier mobs. I've 4K in house rent due every week and I'd like a 3rd house so gold is... worth its weight in gold to me.
- I'm surprised the economy is holding up so well. I've a hard time justifying going out and killing mobs when I'm doing really well in the markets with simple items like leather or wood tar. I think this economic model is working really well. Armor doesn't seem to last long and it cannot be repaired so there is a constant demand for material. By the end of the month I should have enough cash on hand to afford rent for both of my properties for the entire 2024 calendar year.
- I've never purchased anything on the auction house - never.

They work for a town and they've the ability to place a red in jail.
The red either has to sit in jail for up to 48 real hours or pay a ridiculous bail, half of which goes to the town and half to the sheriff (I believe that is the case).
I've seen reds complain about "too many sheriffs".
