Im tired.....
Tired of looking and seaching for the the best mmorpg....
When i type in best mmorpg on google then it finds me several sites that has a top 10 or top what ever.
But these sites are shit and vinegar..
I dont know who these people are that post these list but its clearly they have never even played a pc game in ther life.
They just list mmorpg games that they know the names on like wow and elder scrolls ect.
One site states wow is the best and another site states new world is the best mmorg but when you look on steam.
Then new world only has a playerbase of 20k + players..So how can that be on the best mmorpg list
The same goes for Neverwinter online..playerbase dosent rise above 30k but the site still states its the best mmorpg.
Then there are sites that shows Lost ark is the best mmorg but it also has only 30k+ players.
I remember back in the days when wow had 12 mill players and was the best mmorg of the crowns.
So how can a puny game that lives on life support be one of the best mmorpg with only 20-30k players...
This is mind blowing...PUFF !!
They even put guildwars 2 on a 6th place when it has over 350 k players.
And then they put Elder scrolls online on a 3rd place but it only has half of the player base..
Im talking active players here..not bots and old accounts where people died from covid and ect.
And they even put Black dessert on a 4 or 5 place of best mmorpg and yet it has 20k ish players only.
Also they even put Path of Exile on a 13 th place of best mmorg, when its clearly that this game is a Action RPG.
And ha snothing with mmorg to do...Its braindead !!
Its like this...Hey im gona write a Top 10 game article and post it on a site and make some cash.
So what can i come up with...hmm i heard there is a game called Rift, so i will maybe put that on a second place.
Lets see..there is also a game called Runescape i heard of. So lets give that a 10 th place.
But there is also a game called Hello kitty island. I will put that on the first place.
Now i still need to create a top 10 list, so i will just roll my dice and google some random games.
This sounds like a good plan for some easy money.
I might become ritch from this and famous !
So my point is that these sites are absolutely just as usefull as more sand in the dessert.
And if i look at the game list in here then it has not been udated since the day this site was created...who even runs this site ?
Did the admin leave sadly and depressed over all this dead mmorpg games ? I wonder...and dont blame him/her cuz i would have done the same...
So this conclude there is no best mmorpg !!!
I will go back and play minesweeper or snakes.....haiyaaaa !!!

Clearly the younger audience likes the MOBAs and battle royales more than the MMORPGs.....Maybe its a generational thing, who knows.
This isn't a signature, you just think it is.
mmorpg players seem to want new games not new just content in games they have already played for years and years and years.
But Hey its the best mmorpg on these sites hahahaha...oh mann
I have my hopes pinned on Nightingale and Light no Fire, rash though that probably is.
Hell, the games I loved in the past, in many cases, are games I wouldn't put near as much time in, or enjoy if I played today. Gaming has changed, I've changed, so my expectations aren't the same as they once were.
If I judged best based on hours played, then the games that took time, may have taken that time because I had more free time to give when I was playing the title.
Best game for me today, is the game that I enjoy playing....and that's absolutely not going to be the same for anyone else.
In my humble opinion the list of MMOs referred by this thread looks more like an all star roster in kindergarten cup than the one in World Series.
I agree with this. I put in a good decade into old FF11 (before the original maintenance mode began) and I know that its not anywhere close to being the 'best' mmorpg. I mean, a lot of people dont even know its a mmorpg. Even the parts of the game that I 'loved' (or at least kept me playing, namely the endgame) people either hated for various reasons or never made it to. Which brings me to another point in that many of the elements people claim to 'hate' are kind of what made certain games work, like high rng/constant grinding/random spawn timers/etc because the games were probably shallow otherwise. But look at today and how much 'convenience' there is see how well player retention is compared to the past. Sure, they were gimmicks in themselves but they were also gimmicks people had the choice in engaging in without feeling like it was mandatory if you skipped a day/week from them.

Another thing is monthly login is usually 10 times more than concurrent numbers. So 20k concurrent could mean roughly 200k montly login.

OP seems heavily focused on popularity or number of users, which IMO isnt always a good indicator of whether I would agree which MMO is the best.
Example, EVE is the best MMORPG IMO, but then again, I haven't seriously played it for 7 years now.
