Last Epoch is set to release out of Early Access on February 21st, with 1.0. Eleventh Hour Games has released a launch trailer for the upcoming ARPG, along with preorder details.

    Hope they actually start paying attention to and responding to their support forum when the game launches or they're going to get a bunch of refund requests. Currently when I try to log on with my online characters I get told that Online Play is currently unavailable even though they say their servers are online. Several other people followed up and reported the same issue. This thread has been out there for a couple of weeks, and so far it's been stony silence from support.

    I'm not worried about the characters because I expect them all to get wiped for launch. Either that or they'll start a season and my current characters will just be in the 'forever' bracket. Anyway, I didn't have a ton invested in them, I just wanted to play and couldn't. The stony silence from support is concerning.

    Yeah, I agree with the sentiment about listening to their players. I've dug deeper on the changes made since I've played last, and how they're trying to resolve some of the issues and I don't see it going over well.

    The trade factions sound good on paper and could be interesting but come with some stupid decisions. For example, items can only be traded once, so if you buy an item and later want to resell it, you're out of luck.

    Cosmetics from the cash shop only show up in multiplayer mode and don't drop in offline mode at all. This includes things like Twitch drops from their current campaign.

    It's a hack-n-slash looter and all of this flies in the face of why most people play ARPGs. I think they're trying to go for the POE angle, while trying to please the people who just want a single player ARPG (which they originally sold the game as). It's pleasing no one and their weird online/offline rules are pissing a lot of people off, not to mention the big cash shop cash grab they're trying to pull.

    It's a shame, because Last Epoch is better than Wolcen in my opinion and probably better than most indie ARPGs, but aren't even in the same league as WH40K Inquisitor, Diablo 3/4, Grim Dawn, or POE. With those options out there, this game just doesn't hold a candle. It's good for a campaign play through and that's about it. The game disappoints overall.

    Still waiting for them to finish the story but that seems to be a low priority for them.

    I disagree, but it's a personal choice. If that's what you like then fine, but I see huge downsides to having only drops on the market. For one, it is going to affect drop rates and good items will become stupid expensive and no less rare.

    You should have at least read far enough to also see how they're handling cosmetic items and the cash shop as well because that also plays into drops.

    Personally, this is a big negative for me as other ARPGs have more interesting features, like having satisfying loot tables.

    Grim Dawn and LAst Epoch just didn't click with me. I much prefer POE even though i never get far into maps and then give up lol and D4 I love to hate.

    I'm 100% with Unfiltered and Eleventh Hour on these points. Everything you mentioned in your first post is what pushed me off of the fence and into "can't wait to buy it" territory. I'm really glad someone finally made an ARPG tailored more toward my own sensibilities instead of always going with "what's expected for the genre."

    While I hate flipping in ARPGs I do think EHG could add a VERY rare currency drop that allows you to make an item resellable.  In this case 99.9% of items wouldn't be flipped but some really useful ones could get back in the market.
