Arrowhead Studios' co-op sci-fi shooter, Helldivers 2, kicked off Sony's first State of Play of 2024 with a brand new trailer and that trailer had one big surprise at the end of it: the return of pilotable mechs.

    Well first thing they need to do is get functional net code and servers. Literally spent 15 minutes last night spamming R (quick play) and then clearing the "Unable to join game lobby" message. Finally gave up and played Last Epoch. The game is fantastic when it works. Absolutely the most fun I've had in a co-op game of any genre. Problem is it doesn't work more often than it does. If they don't get this figured out this week I think they're going to have a big problem retaining players.
