You claim to be keen on honesty but demonstrably have less regard for accuracy.
Let's set it out for you: When as Game is a Full Loot Open World Game.
Ungood's Stand: Companies should be Upfront on Honest about their Product. Ungood Supports things like Mortal Online 2's Steam Review that says:
A persistent sandbox world. No classes or levels. Train the skills you want for your own unique build. Player-driven trade, economy, and housing. Millions of crafting combinations. First-person immersive combat. Exploration. Bosses. Full loot, full PvP. The world of Nave is yours - who will you be?
This gives a very direct, straight forward explanation of the game mechanics, and what a player can expect logging in. There is nothing deceiving going on here, it's Full Loot, Full PvP. Right there, lays it out.
KnightFalz's Stand: Companies can be as deceptive as as they want and it's on the player to have to hunt down the info if they want to know what the real deal is.
Knightfalz supports things like Mortal Online Home site review that says:
Basic game info Mortal Online is a first-person MMORPG in a fantasy setting. In Mortal Online there are no PvP zones, only an open realistic world where you are free to choose your own path. Experience true real-time combat where you decide every move your character makes and where your personal skill really matters. Build your own house, or set up a guild to build a keep. With enough power, violence or diplomacy, you and your allies will be able to rule an entire nation. Choose from many different races and professions. You decide your own style of playing and whether to focus on PvP or PvE, both sharing the same game world. Devote your life to crafting, combat, magic or trading. Discover new skills, tools and resources. Or be the first to explore new areas to put your name on the map.
Notice very clearly that this does not lay out what to really expect when getting into the game, they do not make it clear or concise that this is in fact a fully open world PvP game, they use really deceptive word play to dance that point, going so far as to try to play it off that you can chose between playing the game PvE or PvP. Also notice that there is no mention at all about it being full loot.
That's what Knightfalz supports and defends.
Like I said, you have picked a very strange, and in my person opnion a very stupid, hill to die on.
But you keep doing do you.
1) The game is said to have no PvP zones.
2) The game is said to have PvP.
Both can only be true for a game with open PvP.
It is perfectly clear to any reader that pays attention to detail.
I'm not the one choosing to stand on a stupid hill.
Defending a company using loaded, unclear, or deceiving language is without a doubt a totally stupid hill to die
It is one of those stands that is so ridiculously moronic, I cannot fathom why anyone would even chose to die on it
But here you are, doing just that, and just so you understand this, nothing you are saying is making any negative marks towards me, at all. No one disagrees with my view that Game Companies should be Upfront, open and clear about their product.
So, all you are doing is just digging yourself into some really stupid stand and point, to the point that I have no idea what you hope to gain from it, outside alienating people's trust in you, because you defend using deceptive words and phrases to obscure the nature of a game.
Carry on then.. Not hurting me none
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.
In Mortal Online there are no PvP zones, only an open realistic world where you are free to choose your own path. ... You decide your own style of playing and whether to focus on PvP or PvE, both sharing the same game world.
It is pretty clear it is an open world PVP game. No PVP zones can be read either as:
- There is no open world PVP or
- PVP is not segregated.
The 2nd underlined section makes it pretty clear though. All this on the landing page.
It's deceptive, as in they should have said "There are no safe zones" because that is what the reality is, instead they try to pass if off in a less direct manner by saying there are no PvP zones.
They also try to pass off that you can chose between playing PvE and PvP, which is also not the case, the game is PvP, you have to focus on PvP, because like it or not, you will always be in a situation where you will have to deal with it, because, there are no safe zones, there are no places you can in fact focus on PvE
This is the kind of loaded, deceiving language I am against
Look at that vs Albion Online:
Challenge yourself with intense, exhilarating PvP fighting with the greatest warriors in the open world of Albion. Gear up and use teamwork to send the enemy fleeing from the battlefield! Only the most skilful fighters will leave the field victorious!
No deception here, Fight for your Life in an Open World PvP game

Yup. Totally agree. Especially when it comes to Crowdfunding. Glad we are finally on the same page.

I cited MO2 on Steam and the right way to do things.
But come on, MO on their home site, is just trying to dace things to connive PvE players to try the game out, that is why they are wording things the way they are, that is designed directly to be convoluted and deceiving to PvE players.
Egotism is the anesthetic that dullens the pain of stupidity, this is why when I try to beat my head against the stupidity of other people, I only hurt myself.

If their intention is to deceive, why wouldn't they do the same in their Steam page? My point is, you cannot judge the wording purely from the perspective of a single type of player. I am not convinced they went for deception in this case.
If you were a player like me, who wants to know that it is in fact a full loot PVP game (with the economy and risk/reward mechanics of such games) but want to play as a PVE player in such a world (something I have enjoyed in EVE/Albion in the past) how would you describe your game to convince me that you have enough PVE content for me? For me, this sentence kinda nails it:
"You decide your own style of playing and whether to focus on PvP or PvE, both sharing the same game world."
Now if they do not in fact have enough PVE content to focus on (mob variety, game loops etc), that I would call deception.
I totally can
They could have said, Full Loot Open World PvP
and instead they pulled some bullshit like "You can play anyway you like"
BULLSHIT, You are playing a Full Loot Open World PvP Game, your options are PvP, even if you do not fight back, you're going to PvP
But they don't say that
Now my theory is steam does not allow that Bullshit, which is why they have to be upfront and honest about the game mechanics, also, as Wargfoot said, trying to hide shit tends to get you a LOT of 1 star reviews.
