One of Star Citizen's biggest updates yet is now live. Alpha 3.23 adds new features such as a new character customizer, interface overhaul, Vulkan and image upscaling support, and more.

With them stating next major patch this year is 4.0, with the new star system, server mesh and all, is quite another large leap for the game.
"Chart the stars" - there is one system in game!
I have an account but have not logged in for a long time. I have 2-3 friends who have agreed to load it up for the Fly Free event. We will see what reality is.

Yes. I was thinking of asking for a good plan on starting. I have an Aurora LX but I don't think anyone else has a ship.

A number of ships will be free to try during the event. Here's the list of ships and when they'll be available: https://www.joinstarcitizen.com/ship-spotlight
If it does launch I also wonder how much money they’ll need to make to keep it afloat?

Are any multi crew ships going to be available? Like a 3-5 crew ship?

RSI Constelation or the Origin 400i work well in groups.
Players need to actual visit the convention to rent those ships so make sure to choose Area18 city in Arcorp planet as starter area. Otherwise you'll have to travel here.

I remember people calling it Darkfail, it launched but kinda flopped.
That aside, the important thing any game does is keeping the fanbase happy and keep the money rolling.
Star Citizen seems to be doing that better than many have done.
The biggest multicrew needs is probably not new ships but the gameplay systems starting to roll out on thios patch. Engineering has initial implementation on an arena comamnder mode and that is quite game changing when it comes to playing together, adds that whole logic of repairing, energy play, fires, etc, which is a huge slice of what I ever looked for on sandbox multicrew

It's perfectly normal that different projects can have different layers of complexity and requirements.
