The title threw me off - I thought this was for New World, like an expansion or something.

Reporter: What's behind Blizzard success, and how do you make your gamers happy? Blizzard Boss: Making gamers happy is not my concern, making money.. yes!
One major shift in this update is the move away from the game’s previous classless system to a class based system
Yah, that's because classless systems are really really hard to balance and manage, and my guess is they figured that out the hard way. Nothing like spinning up a plate wearing 2h melee monster that can also self heal to say 'hmmm maybe this isn't such an easy thing to balance'. Regardless even if you press on there will always be a meta of some sort meaning you will have builds that are optimal and everything else is suboptimal. Well, you might as well call those optimal builds "classes" and get rid of the suboptimal builds and you end up right back in the class-based system you were trying to avoid in the first place. Funny how these things tend to run full circle.
Anyway, game doesn't look horrible. Doesn't look great either, mind. However, it does look like an actual functioning game which is a lot more than I can say for a lot of these indy dev teams recently. For that alone I'll keep an eye on it, but yes i agree with the above sentiment it looks like another attempt at a WoW clone, and honestly at that point just go play WoW. It's king of the fantasy theme park hill for a reason.
I thought this article would be relating to New World's big June announcement. but it was instead about something that looks like a super-bland WoW clone.
