Ever Find A Game Killing Bug?

I just found a duplication bug in Fractured Online.
It allows me to duplicate rare items (for this example, I picked orbs).
I made 200 of them, just to be sure I understood the bug. 

It has been reported, and the patch is going in tomorrow.
And no, I won't tell you how it's done until the developers confirm the patch is in place.

I think this is the only reproducible/game wrecking bug I've found in a game so far.
I've abused "glitches' before, but nothing quite like this...

As I recall this isn't the first time game breaking dup bugs have plagued this game.

Is why I think their upcoming new server launch likely will fail as it's doubtful you are the only person who found similar, but they probably aren't as noble about it.

Not a game "killing" bug per se but way wayyyyy back when Lord of the Rings Online was in development I found a weird bug where if, during character creation, one were to rotate the character slowly but to all the way to the side, one of the character's eyes would "snap" out of sync with the other eye and one could actually see a space behind it. As if it was not a full orb (because of course it's not) but some sort of half orb with nothing behind it.

I ended up reporting it and shortly thereafter was invited to the early version of the Bull Roarer test server.

Also, not really a bug but wayyyyy back when developers would send a disc for beta testing, I was invited to test Masters of Orion 3.

The beta testers weren't really happy with the way the game was going and I was certainly not happy with the fact that if I wanted to make a fleet I had to, one by one, populate the fleet by dragging and dropping the ship types. On one of the forums I made the complaint and put forth the idea that I wanted a button that I could just press and the various ships would populate all the slots that made up a fleet. I could then drag a few here and there if I wanted something different. Someone else "seconded" the idea and in the next build I got my button. You could still do it by hand but it made it a lot easier and faster.

I remeber when Rift first launched, it was really buggy. I was able to figure out that if your inventory was full, the next item you picked, would go into your weapon slot. 

So I was able to double stack staff in my weapon slot. It doubled my magic power, as a mage. 

I was 1 shotting people, in PVP, and mowing down bosses in PVE. I reported it, and it was fixed a few days later. 

It was fun, while it lasted.

I did find a bugged boss in FO that wouldn't attack me.
I farmed it for a few days and then reported it. 

I file the ill gotten gain under "bug bounty".

I think it will fail because when an audience likes the game, the people who don't like it complain until they get a change in place that ruins it for the first group.  They keep doing this, so they end up killing off the small groups that like the current version of the game.

So we had a vocal group that promised to come back if wiped.
But a wipe isn't new features - so why would they come back if they already quit?

I suggested they follow the NMS strategy of building a vision one stone at a time but that doesn't appeal to anyone.

Probably a bunch of people have found this, there are now thousands of orbs in people's inventories. Duping bugs ruin the economy and the game itself if it is based on any kind of economy.

Are they good enough to know which orbs are duped? Will they remove them from everybody's inventory? What if you sold some and then bought a bunch of other stuff, they remove that too? Or wipe the game? Or let it stay ruined?

There's a well known duping exploit in NMS, but they aren't fixing it since you can just play in easy mode and get everything for free anyway if you want to.

I do not remember the bug but there was some major bug at character creation in SWG and it was like some 1 in a million bug and really bad. I do not remember what it was at this point except it was like - how did this person find it because it was really complicated to produce?!?!

They're doing a 'fresh start' server.
Everything is gonna get wiped eventually.
