I'm okay with the cartoon graphics, reminds me of Wildstar...... The game has potential and I like what I hear so far! I love to play in sandboxes.

I dunno I think the thinking would have been "let's make it look like Fortnite" rather than Wildstar.

Though I personally think they need to license out an IP if they can to get people initially excited. It will be tough to make an all new IP and have people care about it. You know if you license Harry Potter (which isn't going to happen, I'm not delusional) that game will sell 20 million copies in a month.

I do not know the world of licensing though so it might just take all the budget away. However if this was Warhammer 40K based, people would be all over it and really excited. I cannot see people getting excited over something that looks like every other game since Fortnite.

I'm personally sitting here going "I wish this was EverQuest and SOE was still a thing"....

Maybe we should get excited one final time? But I see a cat person and already I want to hate it lol.

    Wait, wut?   :/

In EQ2 when I played in 2004 I thought nothing of them, they seemed fine. However now they're some weird sexual furry thing and so I hate seeing them in games because they attract perverts.
Well obviously Kyleran is a pervert, its the orange that gives that away you know, but I am not going to be as dismissively optioned as to also say that about the game. :)

I do not mind the art style and I am fine with the way it looks. My issue is more skepticism and rightfully so - I have been around this genre for 25 years and seen promises come and go. This game sounds fascinating but any expectation is tempered greatly.

I see a lot of Wildstar comparisons. I think the art style is Wildstar-esque, but that about it. One thing I didn't care for in Wildstar is that everything looked like it was made out of junk and scraps. As long as they keep that out, I'll be fine with the art style.

I also like how everything is bright and colorful. Dark has its place, but I don't want the entire game to be dark.

I'm also glad they didn't go Asian with the art. I absolutely hate that art style in game.

Wildstar was a themepark though wasn't it? So you can only take that so far.

    Graphics remind me of Wildstar.

Or Disney Dreamlight Valley. Part of what hurt Wildstar and made it so hard to take serious was the art style sadly.

Not even sure even anime style would fare much better.

Yes, Wildstar was very themepark. I was really only making the art style comparison, which I don't mind. I'd rather it looks like Wildstar than BDO.

To be frank if SR looked like BDO people would be questioning that it can do anything like as much as what Ralph is suggesting. I would for one, downgrading the graphics from those heights is necessary if you have a lot of "building features".
