I get that graphics are important to people, but honestly this just feels like a way for them to get the same money from people again.....sure a lot of your cosmetics carry over, but someone can correct me if I'm wrong here, you have to buy the EA pack in order to permanently unlock all the gods 'forever' even if you did that for Smite 1.....Essentially what Blizzard did going from Overwatch to Overwatch 2

On the surface, it would appear to be as you said, however let's take a look at a couple of things.
It's not like Overwatch where the first game disappears. Instead, Smite 1 will continue to run and allow people who dislike the changes made in Smite 2 to continue to play. How long they will run both games, who could say. Since SMITE 2 is being touted as a separate game, it makes sense they would charge for people to purchase the new gods for smite 2. That being said, it is kind of shitty that the loyal fanbase of Smite 1 who bought the god pack over ten years ago and have sunk thousands of dollars into cosmetics are getting the short end of the stick when it comes to SMITE 2.
Edit: Fixed some grammar.
