The Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen team was set to hold a Q&A on the game's recently-announced Early Access. However, the Q&A has postponed to give the team more time.

I mean, I did get the license key today so I can try the alpha, so there's that I guess.

Hey what happened to your Pantheon picture? It always made me laugh and be sad that the fans were so taken in.
My signature picture? It's still there. Well, it's still visible to me anyway.

Played it a bit tonight. Having this ready for early access in December feels more like an educated wish on Visionary Realms part.

Yeah except Pantheon has much much less depth.
i feel like we have been talking about this game for over 10 yrs on here ....... maybe i am wrong but anyway where they are now SHOCKED ME tbh and i am not saying this in a positive way
It would be only the first of many failed promises and release dates to come.

Albion Online likes to have a word with you and yeah who doesn't like to shit on people attempting to do something against the MMORPG drought we're currently in?
Don't get me wrong, I'm also disappointed by projects like Pantheon etc. but to me this "I want to see all small MMO devs crash and burn" attitude sounds a bit like an offended child.
Personally I wish devs like the Monsters & Memories guys all the luck and hope they'll succeed.
Will I spend any cash on any MMO thats still in development? Hell no, I've learned my lesson a long time ago with Mortal Online but do I still have hope for another Albion Online success story? Definitely!
Btw. played Pantheon for a few hours and yeah I agree with everything that's been said before, it's more like an early alpha. The only posivite thing I have to say is that it ran quite good and that the new graphics style was a bit better looking than I expected. Here's to another 10 years ;-P
Unless the graphics of P:G have recently vastly improved Pantheon does not look like it. The character models in P:G have visible polygon seams in places and are otherwise so bad an advisory on the character creation page is provided that states these will definitely not be the final character models used.
P:G has a much better initial experience as. Your character isn't absolute rubbish despite starting with a rusty sword and a few rations and you quickly drop at least basic gear to suit up with. The tutorial island even has some puzzles to solve that although not mind blowing are something that doesn't often happen early on. It introduces the NPC favour system. There is also more than one way to get off it, with one of them beings specified in game and the other needing player discovery.
I think it a pretty decent start anyway.
It has been pulled off by non-AAA studios but to only modest success.
Embers Adrift has been doing it since they've been in a release state. They aren't raking in money but the game is sustainable.
By keeping their ambitions small they have been able to reach them.
So it isn't that it can't be done entirely but more so that creating a MMORPG on the scale of those made by the leading companies of the genre is beyond their reach. Those wanting to give it a go must keep their ambitions in check.
Not disagreeing with you, just wanted to point out that most players do not use steam to log into Albion online. That metric is only going to be valid with steam only games.
And how many of these "real" studios are still going to be around by then ?
I mean... maybe New World? Any other AAA MMORGs release in the last 5 years that was a success?
