Hopefully this is the game I'm looking for. Nothing seems to hold my attention for longer than 2-3 months anymore.
That seems symptomatic of gamers these days, indeed one to two months is becoming more common. There are a number of reasons for this, like live service games all having gameplay too similar or so many games coming out we are like kids in candy shop, also dumbing down has played a role, everything is so simple where is the sense of achievement that keeps you coming back?

I guess this begs two questions:
1. What did hold your attention for longer than 2-3 months?
2. Why aren't you still playing it?
For me nothing has ever held my attention longer than 6 months at the absolute most and that was WoW. Only reason I stuck around that long was I was my guilds main tank. I had a whole guild depending on me to run content. Honestly it was exhausting. I'd have the "you have been invited to a group" notification the moment I'd logged into the game. It was a second job only one for which I wasn't getting paid. At some point on a Saturday when I had spent 12 hours of my day in WoW and my fiance (now wife) was super pissed I decided the game had become a problem and was literally sucking the life out of me. Since then I decided I wasn't going to marry myself to games and I haven't regretted it.
I see folks pining away for some game that they can turn into their second life. I'd say be careful what you wish for. Games are more than happy to consume however much of your actual life your willing to give and what do you get in return? Purple gear? Server firsts? Is it really worth it?
Nothing wrong with a game you play casually for a little entertainment to unwind for 2-3 months and then move on to something else.

If any game says live service, don't do it.
