how does the story work

hey i would like to know how the story works.
do you move through the story do you do missions for the main npcs
then can every one be at different parts of the story at the sam time

From what i can tell, it's much like other mmorpgs. You create a character and choose a starting area and become one of the faceless nobodies. There are quests to do, but the main point of the game is character leveling/socialization. I'm not to sure on the plot, from what i have heard there is a final boss and such, and the missions/quests/whatever they are, do have ingame movies attatched to them. Maybe someone else can cooraborate with me on this. I havent played the beta yet, so i don't know exactly how it works. I'm guessing it's something close to EQ/DAoC...almost positive.
There are quests you can do for the NPCs, and in that way little backstories can be revealed about a certain place or thing or what have you. The main storyline comes in with the missions you do for your country. It's a pretty good story, too.
