Do you listen or wait to talk?

It's late, it's storming outside, and I'm a little bored so here is a question for you all:

When your in a conversation with another person and they are talking, are you listening to them or waiting for your turn to talk? (Kind of stole this question from the Pulp Fiction director's cuts, but it's still an interesting question none the less.)

Myself, it can be either. I usually find when I'm on a first date I'm waiting to talk, but as I get to know the person better I listen more and more.

Most of the time, I'm either listening and ignoring while they are talking. I don't do much of the talking.
