Originally posted by MatrixOmally Good post, I was looking at getting this game, but it looks just like every other game I've played. I can't wait until a MMO comes out to where I can play it with out getting bored as all hell.
DAOC
Played it for 1.5 years then went to other beta's and games and wound up coming back....
Have yet to ever be bored while playing DAOC...
Hoping that the RMR changes make EVE good enough for me to play it. Because it would be nice to have EVE as a 2nd game to DAOC just as a 'change of pace' game.
Currently Playing: Dungeons and Dragons Online. Sig image Pending Still in: A couple Betas
I'll have to agree. DAoC is the most well-made MMO in my opinion. It's the most well-rounded, and RvR rocked.
Which is why I"m looking forward to Warhammer Online in '07 well since Mythic is behind it.
But yeah I think RMR is fixing a lot of things that people have complained about. As far as I know they're going to be making changes to the BM system, since copying them causes quite a bit of lag. From what I remember (could have been a player's suggestion, or ccp's I can't remember exactly) but someone had mentioned a skill that you could train to decrease the distance you would warp into at a certain point. So that instead of warping in at 15k, you could warp in at 0k with level 4 or 5. I can't remember the specifics or who said it, but I would love that whenever it comes out. I'm also a huge fan of the drone changes. Being able to control less drones, but making the drones 3x more powerful and durable.
And the new ships will affect everyone since they're adding everything from new Destroyers to new Capital Ships.

I'm gonna reply to the original reviewer. The first month, maybe even 2 can be a tedious process in EVE. But, travel isn't that much of a problem with a little preparation (bookmarks).
The first problem with new players and travel is that a frigate doesn't have much cap to warp, so some systems require multiple warps to just get to a stargate. There is no way around this, other than training. If I jump in a frigate, even with great Navigation skills, I have some systems that require multiple warps.
But, you said you AFK in the game, and I never get it. I'm never AFK. There are certain routes I take constantly, and I have them bookmarked. I rarely autopilot in EVE, and use bookmarks to reach a startgate at jump range, and I instantly jump coming out of warp. I travel some long distances, my hunting grounds are 40 jumps away from empire, and I can make that trip in well under an hour.
The other big thing is people running missions. They are the best way to start gaining ISK in the game, but try the security agents. The rewards are much better, from loot, to bounty, to the rewards. They of course are more dangerous too.
I would say 13 days in a game, especially one as deep and complex as EVE, does not allow enough time for a fair review. Just as I couldn't really give a fully fair review as I've been playing for almost 3 years counting BETA. I will say however, that your best bet in EVE is to find a GOOD corp. Doesn't have to be a mega-corp, or a top 10 contender. But like minded people to play the game with, and people that will help you on your journey. I'm a Veteran player, but I loose ships to people a lot less skilled because of their teamwork. EVE is not fun Solo, especially starting out. While I do make a good living when my corp mates are offline, I'd rather be a part of a corp operation.
EVE is a huge game. Running courier missions is probably as fun as mining veldspar, and without goals of what you want to do and become in EVE, its pointless. I highly recommend anyone starting out in the game to get in the help channel ASAP, and after you get some of the mechanics down, try finding a corp to join. My in game name is Fantus, and I'm more than happy to help people get off the ground in EVE. That's another thing: The community in EVE is probably the best of all the games I've ever played. Even a lot of the 'scary' pirates are a good assett to the game.
Far be it from me to critisise people but i find it hard to controll myself when i read such things. After reading the first page of this thread i couldnt even bring myself to carry on so i do apologise if some other fellow eve fan has leapt in to correct some of the mystakes (or misaprehensions) surounding this game. So this reply is primarly for the benefit of axyrn.
As you will have already noticed im am an eve fan and to let you in on just home much, i have been playing without a significant pause for around a year and a half.
You open your review with the statement that this game is overrated by veterin players. But thats just it, by getting online for less than two weeks you havent actualy "played" it yet. The play is such that, unlike the traditional mmpog's, eve has more to offer. in your time online you talk about the tedium of mining and agent running. But what you dont understand is that most veterins spend little or no time in this kind of activity. The whole point about the time build up in this game is exactly why it has so much more staying power than standard first person rpg's. You dont spend your time aimlesly wondering around some alien world and then engaging in pithy poorly designed real time or turnbased combat (no offence SWG fans) and as a resault you dont (usually) give up after the first two weeks like most peeps do with most first person mmpog's.
Eve is about community more so than any other game. The secret to success and indeed enjoyment is the interaction with other players and this is where it becomes interesting. What you needed to do is get involved with a corp, start making friends. The world is far too large for individuals to survive and have fun on thier own. (Even the combat is geared towards fleet combat)
The Drones do have their own easy controll window in the overview
Isk and toon farmers get busted everyday
Eve online has the higest average player age of any of the top mmpogs and you cant blame the devs for player choices of names.
Oh btw EVE broke 21k players online the other day .
I know you asked for no veterines to come here and defend eve. But isnt that the whole point of a forum, to exchange ideas and opinions. I just dont think that what you said represents an acurate portrayel of the game. There is soo much you havent experienced. Though i cant say for sure, you wont have had a chance to get into the following areas:
Research, manufacuring, trading, deepspace individual and fleet bassed PVP conflict, coporate managment, station managment. etc. (the list goes on)
The combt is actually exceptionally tactical. and once you get passed the fact that you're not flying using a joystick, you start to realise that there is a a huge amount of stratagy in the combat. just because it doenst have the window dressing of standard combat sims doesnt mean its not far supirior to them in every other way.
Well i could go on and on but i think i have made my point. But lastly i would just like to say that i have a family and a job and while addmitadly i dont have much time for other games, i just wouldnt have it any other way!!!
P.S. if you ever decide to give it another try, look up my character who goes by the same name and we will get you into the corp and see if we cant find somthing about the game that you like . thats ll for now guys. Peace.
the free trial is there to give you an idea abotu what the game is like. if they want to make people like the game, start them out where a veteran player will be so they can see that stuff.
when i play the trial of a game and i don't like it, guess what? i'm not going to pay money and HOPE it gets better. If the game sucks for 2 weeks, it will moastly suck forever.
As a veteran player, I have alot of sympathy with the new players. First off it took me much longer to get used to the game than two weeks and that was back in 2003. But that can be overcome with a couple of trials.
The biggest block is the real time skill system (which is one of the reasons I love this game). If I want to create a new account alt that is going to last me a couple of years then I would probably spend half of the first four months training just boosting learning skills. Admittedly after that the world is my oyster, but asking a new player to spend so much time just getting to the stage that he is able to train as quickly as the veterans is a hard ask.
Perhaps CCP should consider giving new accounts that have joined after a trial 0.5 to 1 mil skill points in a totally new character to ensure that the mistakes of a trial are not carried over to the game character.
I think this review is totally inacurate of what EVE is about. I only read the 1st page but just want to add one of the best feature of this game is the economic system ie the market, building researching part of the game. It is the most advanced of any game, the whole market system is mainly controlled by the players. Prices rises and lower based on demand and supply.
I hope this review doesn't put new players off the game as there is so much more to do than what this guy has written ie PvE, PvP, mining, building, trading running your own corporation the options are endless.
And if you think you can't PvP cos your a newbie this is untrue. Join a corp a train to be a tackler these are essential to fighting in groups in EVE, so before you know it you could be taking out players 1yr older than you.
Also you don't have to be ingame to train skills like many other RPG games.
And off course it will suck for the 1st 2 weeks because thats not enough time to learn 10% of what the game is about. But once you get your 1st Battleship you will never stop playing and it doesn't take long to train for one 2 months is all it takes.:19
I am a 10 month old player and I can do 90% of the missions a 2 year old player can do so don't think you will be gimped if you start now. The later you sign-up the longer your missing out.:
Thanks for the post. Ive been in training on and off all day and Im getting an uneasy feeling about the whether there is actually a fun factor in this game.
But going back to what i said earlier this kind of time engagement is exactly what makes eve soo amazing. Admittadly there are a lot of players that want to just get into the game and be able to startplaying like veterins do. But the reason it doesnt work like that is also the reason why the game has so much more long term playability then any other. The fact that you have to wait to do stuff means that When that stuff comes along you are so much more thankful of it.
The same rule applies to the combat itself. A previeous post said "if only there was some kind of pvp element with no risk" (or somthing like that). But thats just it! There is no game ever made anywhere that has such nervracking and thrilling combat as eve! The very fact that you have given so much time and effort into ktting out your ship means that you dont engage in combat lightly and when you do you notice one thing. Your heart is beating like there is some madman chasing you with a shotgun! Its geniuos and i emplore all of you who are not veterin players to get on it and stick with it! you WILL be rewarded for your time.
i do agree to some extent but curious to know how you got 10 mil and lvl4 skills in 13 days?
some skills can take up to 50 days to train in real time boring i agree
in the main part though missions are available the real gameplay comes into its own when waring player factions battle for areas of space. yes after 2 years 8 months i have the skills and can train them quickly and have money i must agree on the time consuming part.
Just a general word to defend the most unique and successful game that is NOT being developed by a mega-corp.
EVE Online is not a game for everyone. It doesn't try to be, and those of us who like don't want it to ever become such a thing. If you want a game that's easy, quick, and gives instant gratification, please go join the other 5 million folks who are enjoying WoW. I'm not dogging on WoW (I rather like the first half of the game, and will still log in until my current month runs out), but EVE is not WoW.
EVE is a game about strategy. If you haven't joined a player corporation and taken part in PvP, then you haven't seen much of the game. I haven't yet either, so I'll leave that discussion for someone else. I have played for several months, and the thing I cherish most is the thing you seem to hate. I'm free to do whatever I want to do. There's no clue-stick whacking me when I drift too far from the storyline. I don't have to do quests for one agent until he dries up and hands me off to another. I'm free to work for whomever I want, doing whatever missions I want -- or NOT! I can mine for minerals and build my own ships. I can steal ore from other miners and risk being hunted down. I can ambush people, or I can escort them.
The game itself imposes few limits, and relies on the players to create the action. CCP provides storyline content to nudge things along, but it's the player interaction that makes the game. Unlike so many of these MMO's, EVE really can be a true Role Playing Game -- but you don't have to play that way if you don't want to.
So yes, all the points you made are true. It does take a long time to get anywhere, and if all you do is grind your way around the game like most other games, it is repetitive. But all the things you see as bad, we see as good. It's our kind of game, and those of you who happen to read this and feel like you want something with a bit of depth, something where the content isn't spoon-fed to you by the devs, and even something where YOU, a player, might be a real part of the story instead of a customer number... give it a try.
Just a few comments - also directed at some who are "defending" eve here as well.
1st - i love eve. But i also love gaming in general and try to see good and bad points about all things. Bad points are just areas for possible improvement...
Anyway - come on guys!!! 13 days IS and SHOULD BE enough time to try out a game. For crying out loud you can be up to a third of the way through a WoW character (lvl20) in that time... and finished a lot of FPS games in that time.
The fact that so many people say "eve cannot be experiences in 13 days" is a FAULT in the game. If you cant get a decent idea of what a game is like in 13 days, dump the game. The fact that this happens to so many people is a serious shortcoming in the eve gameplay.
I know the argument (i've used it myself) that after a couple of days any pilot can be useful in PvP etc... but the game does not show this - i would go so far as to say that the game hides this fact behind layers of obfuscation and needless complexity.
Then again, eve doesn't need too fast growth - especially at this stage.
But then again - Eve is a niche game. The Devs have designed the game to appeal to a certain type of person. NOT the "more intelligent" person, but the person that is patient, that appreciates slowly building towards long term goals, that appreciates taking big risks for big rewards, Someone that is able to plan ahead and be ready to minimise the possible impacts of failure - and people who want to be a part of something bigger and willing to make sacrifices for the team.
In eve you will NEVER be the "hero" of the game. You are not unique, but another cog in the corporate machine. But it is so much harder, and more rewarding to me, to bask in the reflected glory of my corp - to whom i put myself on the line every time i fly.
I was playing from when the game whent retail. I'm still poor ingame, and only have reasonable skills (no implants etc). I specialised as a frigate pilot (interceptors and assult frigs) and i joke about loving my flying coffin.. i never do the most damage, i rarely make many kills. But without my input our corp fleet wouldn't be so successful. I scout ahead and lock down enemies i see while the big guns follow up behind. I drive away many of the other enemy tacklers to protect my friendly battleships, I patrol our controlled areas and look out for enemy incursions. I ferry expensive equipment around in secret.
I am not a hero, and dont stand out. But i contribute to the success of my corp, and get appreciation for that. I love that we can set our own goals, hopes and dreams, and work in many various ways towards that. I love that the combined efforts of a team are much much better than what our individual efforts would be. I like that organisational skill and planning and logistics play such an important part in the game, and those skills make such an impact on the success (or failure) of a corp.
I also play WoW, and love the quests and experiences from lvl1-59. I have several alts and play regularly. I also play CS and enjoy that as well. Each are totally different games which appeal to different emotions and skill sets.
To end - everyone who thinks eve may be interesting - give the 14 day trial a go. Try different things and talk to everyone you can. Try mining, trading, mission running. Also get out there and try blowing other players up, try piracy. Working within limits, and getting around them creatively is something that Eve allows. If you try all this, and still dont like it, no problem, Eve is just not for you.
For those that like the game - Welcome to the Second Genesis.
Nah Cenn, that guy was trying to pull fun at the game and the posters in general.
Eve is a very differnt game for gameplay, game input and everything else. Personally I haven't played many different Mmorg's but all I can really put in is that Eve is a real differnt game designed for a particular crowd, I'm just happy I fit this game's niche. If you don't like the game, good on you go back to WoW or Cs:s or BF2 or AoE3 etc. Eve isn't for the 5 million for this or the 6 million of that. Stop it with these stupid/idiotic threads on how you didn't enjoy the game because of the same reasons over a dozen guys before you have stated. Go back to your other games and live in those imaginary world's. instead of this one.
Yes everyone has right to their own opinion, but come on, we have heard it all before, review the game, don't post **** everywhere. Theres a reason some people with 20+ posts are still novice etc etc..
Also Do you see anyone that favours Eve as a game going to say WoW and posting all it's faults and why they don't want to play it (nothing against WoW, but I had to use a big example) I myself find both games good for their designed gameplay, WoW another grinder but fun, pretty and enjoyable. Eve, long, pretty, great community, do as you please theme. BF2 Death helicopters, tanks, jets, explosives, fps to the max. But thats the point, each game is for each player, but not every game is for YOU you self sentered sht's (I regret all harsh language but it is needed to force the point) Stop spamming the Eve thread with your inability to understand or enjoy a very indepth game.

(all spelling mistakes are from typo's =P)
"Just because there are other colours to use in chat does not mean you have to use them..." - Please follow
I completely agree with the original post and everything that poster said throughout this thread. This game has so much going for it yet it will not make it to mainstream. If that is not what they are looking for, they will have a good niche base until someone takes what they did and makes it playable by 5 million people. aka AC to WOW.
Originally posted by axyrn (no native english) After 13 days i can honestly say that this game is far overrated by some Veteran players. Basicly all you do is doing 100reds of equal missions until you reach a little higher faction which gets you to the next Agent with the same Missions just higher rewards which leads you to new ships but nothing new at all. This game promises so much when you started it but after a few days you will start to wonder if theres anything else than aiming for the next big ship or the next level weapon or whatever item... The Traveling time in this game is simply said the biggest timelife stealer i have ever seen, you have to jump jump jump endless times between starsystems. I have never been AFK so much in any game ever, your doing housework, taking a shower, go Shop and when your back your stupid ship is still traveling. All you can do is watching the stupid Rookie Help channel for hours and slowly you will start to feel sorry for the people there. If you destroy a few NPC enemies you will have to get the loot manual and Approach every single loot container which takes abother 15 mins after a big battle. So damn timewasteing ! No traktor beam or drones that could collect the loot, and that 1000sands of years in future.... After reaching L3-4 with some skills you will get your 1st shock when you see that a Skill takes 2-3 days real life time to level up !! You will have the cash for a nice ship upgrade but you will be stuck until the skills all reached the Ship level, since you can only train one level after another it can take 1 week just to spend your nice money to get a new ship if you started with the wrong skills..... Later when you start to leave the 0.1-9 secure zones you will get PKedf with your nice ship and if you forgot to Insure you can start over again lolol !! So stupid. You will also see that some wannabe´s in the Help channel will always play wannabe GMs, that was one of the things that pissed me off most, some people that have no life at all are trying to play the smart and wise gameguides. OVERALL > this game needs way to much time invested for the returns *Boring and repeative gameplay Mine, deliver some trash or kill some Pirats. always the same. maybe do a Illegal mission from time to time. *Terrible hard to learn , many people with limited playtime (casual) wont ever have a chance to reach something good in weeks. *Loot must be collected manually which costs alot extra time and after the 50iest mission you will get bored and leave the loot in space. *DRONES (pseudo Pets) are stupid and bring you in danger often, because they simply have to less control options, they finished something off then suddenly wander off 50km to attack something. if you collect loot and dont pay attention the drones pull all the NPCs on you. Drones need a simple Control window with the basic options DEFEND, AGGRESSIVE, GUARD etc etc... *DANGER !!! i often had the feeling to fall asleep while traveling. I never had a game that made me that sleepy. *No Control over your Ship in Battle. All you can do is Lock some Targets and click the weapon buttons, if you want to steer the ship you need to click somewhere into the space and the ship will slowly react and fly there. I hated this control , i wish the game had a manual flight control, but this click and wait is trash. *Weapons, you will have to study endless hours before you can finally say that your ship is good enough for all type of ranges and damage types in battles. Confusing and only good for people without life. *Travel time, HORROR ! i tell you before you start this game, find a few hobbies that you can do from your computer. I never had a game where i used to TAB out and Surf the Internet or do some housework as much as in EVE. *If you come from traditional MMORPGs like DAOC, EQ, AO, AC, WoW then this game wont be for you. Maybe for a few days. *Motivation Scale starts at 10 but after some days your at 5 then after 2 weeks if you arent a lifeless or really patient person your at 1 and leave. terrible *CHINESE isk farmers, you will see ships with names like 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 which are nothing else than MACRO MINERS for Chinese Euro/Dollar greed nerds. GMs ignore that it seems.
*GRAFICS !! the grafic absolutely rock and they were the main reason i played that long. The rest is aboslutely Fake, an simple game not easy to learn because the DEVs planned to keep the players learning phase long enough. *stupid players with names like D3ARTHVAD3R, R3VENG3 1116622 and what all. you will meet many childish matures that think they can return to their youth and play the "ownzyO" m8.
*Downtime > Not much BUT everyday at 11am GMT which sucks, i wonder why they have to restart the servers everyday really. *Suggestions >> Let players learn 2 skills at once 1 Primary Normal speed, one Secondary half speed. QUEUE > this game needs a Skill Learn QUEUE i found myself often to lazy to play just login in to click on a skill that takes a while to learn. SOOOOoooo stupid for an online game. Log in and out and wait.... OVERALL > Enjoy the 14 day trial i am sure 10-20% of the trial player will stay but the majority will leave in anger and wonder what they wasted their time for. I made like 10 millions of cash brought all skills to level 3-4 had a MOA cruiser and suddenly was bored to hell...
EVE = Big Big Life Time Stealer, no other MMORPG has so much Online time were you have nothing to do but WATCH the screen or TAB out to Surf or whatever
P.S please, all you Veterans that you seem to have all your lifetime to play this game, dont come here and try to defend this game, because you guys are really different from normal people with a Family, Job and whatall. The only person that i could imagine that has a legal reason to defend EVE are Housewifes, that work in the house the whole day while EVE is running. They jump to the PC a few times per day to bring the MINER ship back to the Station, Sell and return to Mine.
thanks for the report I can now think about the PROS and CONS of this game before making my decision on it tho i dont think i'll be playing it.....Good Review!
Coming from a veteran point of view, I think most people miss the good part of the game. Eve Online has probably the best PVP to be had. Incredibly realistic and amazing graphics to complement it. It is a game where there are no levels and everything is possible. A 1 month old noob can give the oldest player quite a time in PVP flying the most inexpensive of ships.
I also, for one, am very impressed with the player run economy which is so unique to Eve. Anyone can play their cards right and be smothered in cash before they know it.
Basically what I'm saying is that missions just plain suck, so noobies: dont waste your time Go out and see what there is to see...ya got nothing to lose and everything to gain!
EVE is a game for people who like free-form game play. Sure, there are missions, but EVE is not about doing missions and in my opinion EVE would be fun to play even without those missions. EVE has a good pvp and pve system. If you do not want to be involved in pvp, you can easily stay out of dangerous solarsystems; the EVE universe is big enough to play for years in secure systems (0.5 and higher).
Actually if you will have fun in EVE depends on your own imagination. If you want to be guided and entertained you will not have fun for long (this is what the OP meant with doing "just" missions). But if you are able to play more free-form you see the equipment and facilities as a starting point for a life with many possibilities and start to conquer it - maybe start your own corporation, making alliances with other corporations.
Also the OP said if you have a bigger ship and start entering the <0.5 space you might loose it and have to start all over again. Who in the world said that you have to have just one single ship?- I do not play EVE for long (just a few days) and have 7 ships fully equipped for special purposes and 2 others are already bought and ready to equip as soon as I got the skills to fly them.
In the meantime I am testing out my equipment and learn about the effects and how to use weapons, electronic equipment and such using the pirates in 0.6-0.8 space as combat training partners. When I think I have got it, I go to 0.5 space and see if I can handle my ship as easily as I meant.
Playing around with electronic equipment showed me that EVE has great potential for in-game fights, especially if you group up with other players and use navy like tactics. Choosing the right ships for attack, support and defense - this needs military tactics and leadership - something that you can enjoy if you are familiar with military simulations.
Or see the economy of EVE. If you want you can go for an industrial carreer and start your own corporation. It is like in real life - the possibilities are there, you just need the imagination to use them!
It was your choice to play through your trial as a carebear, grinding missions like you were playing WoW or something. I just finished my trial (buying a full account now btw) pirating and ratting in low sec, most fun I've had in a long while.
The 'awesome' changes you've suggested would ruin the game for the ones already playing, and would only serve to benifit amateur players like yourself who require an "I WINZ0R" button on their games. This is proven by the 'zomg t3h skillz take 2 long!!1!' comments you made. If you want instant grat games, maybe you should be playing pong or something.
Now, while I (and my lack of a life) go out with friends while my skills are training, you can sit and grind XP in WoW for hours upon hours (an extremely cool thing to do, which is sure to get you laid anytime soon).
BTW Kid, it's a 108K player base, and we just broke 20K concurrent users. So I guess you're right, EVE won't break 100K in the next year, it's already been done.
1st i dont need anyones respect. i was playing this game for 20 days all in all not 13. i gave the game another chance after the patch. It failed.
2nd the patch havent changed anything about Traveling time or loot collection, the Traktor Beams are a shame, they cant be used by low players because they are to expensive and the skills you need take a while to achieve.
3rd i did not make only 10 mill in 13 days it was more like 20 mill, not much but it shows that i really tried to learn and play the game.
About this "hes an carebear" comment. All i ever had was a MOA ship, how should i be able to fight against PKers with big ships that kill me in 2 shoots ????? Leaving 0.1 was impossible for me and that after 3 weeks.
I stand 100% behind my review, its how the game is after 2-3 weeks. If CCP doesnt like that then they need to change the gameplay for new players, because its stupid boring and repeative.
I am sure there are some new players that got friends that are playing since a long time, so they get a few hundred mill to start and good hints which skills to take 1st so they can have Frigate 4 in example or other powerfull skills. But the standard "no clue" player is left alone in the rain runnning missions or mining Asteroids for days which is simply boring and retarded.
The last patch adressed Veterans mainly, N00bs are left out.
Another thing that pissed me off was that i logged in after this Patch and saw that i couldnt use my 3 drones anymore in my MOA, only 2 because the Cargo room for Drones was reduced from 25 to 15. It pissed me off becuase i was aiming for Drone skills. They uped the HP/ARMOR/SHIELD/DMG a bit and left it for good.
DRONES still react like idiots, they always try to attack the next Enemy, even if its 100km away. Instead of going into Idle Mode after a fight they fly fly fly fly far away. This is stupid and shows that the developers are far from doing their job well. If your forget to return them to ship and orbit you will have a problem. Unbelievable bad quality coding, whoevert is responsible for the Drones should work less on nerfing them but more on how to control them.
Again Traktor beams are a shame, only rich players with big ships/skills can use and afford them. They eat up an High Slot which lets you use 1 weapon less. So looting an battle area still takes the same time for me. Unacceptable.
Hard words yes, but again if these CCP guys want Mainstream players, then not with this Lifetime destroying game with so many timesinks that its impossible to list them all in one day...
this game is for people that: Really have no job, Have a job where they can play in backround, Are lifeless, are alone without family, Housewifes that can watch the Monitor sometimes over the day. poor Pupils that are to lazy to learn and prefer to play EVE and earn their respect there instead in school.
This game is only for people that absolutely have nothing else to do than sitting at their PCs and never do something Social in real life. otherwise they wont achieve anything.
********** CCP ***********: Increase the Skill learning speed, Reduce the travel time, Give every Ship a Traktor Beam with at least 100km range. Make Docking and Jumping faster. Give new players an alternative to Mine/deliver or kill missions. Introduce Battlegrounds for low level players to learn pvp against even players. Give Drones a Control Panel. Expand the game so that players can walk around in stations. Make it possible to Land on Planets/Moons and mine them. How great would it be to walk around on Planets/moon surfaces and search for good mining spots ???
Let the players learn 1-3 Skills at once, give them 100% learning time and let them split it how they want in example. 33% Enginering 33% gunnery 33% Starship command. or 25/25/50 or 75/15/10 or however. I cant rember that i could only learn one thing in my life really.....

Sig image Pending
Still in: A couple Betas

I live to fight, and fight to live.
I agree with alot of them points.
I wish there was something fun with no risk to do Like PVP battlegrounds! buy a setup and go into the BG for fun.
I dunno though it's a risky game and it's meant to be how it is for the people the company wants to play.

Its geniuos and i emplore all of you who are not veterin players to get on it and stick with it! you WILL be rewarded for your time.
i do agree to some extent but curious to know how you got 10 mil and lvl4 skills in 13 days?
some skills can take up to 50 days to train in real time boring i agree
in the main part though missions are available the real gameplay comes into its own when waring player factions battle for areas of space.
yes after 2 years 8 months i have the skills and can train them quickly and have money i must agree on the time consuming part.
anyway i like it hehe

hmmm very lax statement made here
so what your saying is anyone working full time and running a family and hobbies dosnt have time to play
alas i work 80 hours a week a household and 5 grandchildren and yet im 30 mil skill point and rich on eve.
why not make comment on the game rather than the people that play it.
also note: derogatory statements against housewives seems you have no idea how hard a houswife works, its a full time job.
Im male and married and well to me the eve player need an ability to see beyond the end of your nose.
eve can be boring but name a game that isnt and youll probably get arguments from someone or other.

For those that like the game - Welcome to the Second Genesis.
why do u ppl waste time posting messages to critizice the game in the forums?
you should just put it under review or somethin.......
and eve is awesome
eh?
I didn't criticize the game... i gave my opinion of it.
And i love the game anyway
But i think people should get an idea of the game they want to play

This is where you lost all respect from me.
---------------------------------------
No Userbar here, sorry to disappoint.
Your review shows you have no creativity and are not suited for Eve.
I have NEVER run a mission in my eve-career. You DONT need to.
Basically what I'm saying is that missions just plain suck, so noobies: dont waste your time
Go out and see what there is to see...ya got nothing to lose and everything to gain!
Ragosch
It's not the game's fault.
I guess you broke your promise...
Hello all,
1st i dont need anyones respect. i was playing this game for 20 days all in all not 13. i gave the game another chance after the patch.
