Pictures + Sig=BAD

Why do some people put a picture in their sig? It just makes the threads harder to read.

When replying to a thread, reply once with the sig and future replies in a thread should turn off the sig.

Does this bother anyone else? Anybody with me on this?

    I think pictures are a better way to express ones Signature than just words.

    *EDIT* Also its a way for people to show of their artwork.

    why do you have them so much.. is it cuz you dont have one they stand out and they look cool without them we dont have as much 13371355 as b4 so we are 1337 with these 1337 5165

    Hmmph, well I will agree that they do not need to be posted in every single one of your replies in a thread. Even more so if you are the type who posts every other post in a thread, and have a large signature. Some people however use their signature to link to a site they are interested, be it a server they play on, guild they have membership in, web comic they read or anything else. Also on the point of being unable to express in words what you can in a picture, that is only because the English language lacks the proper words for many emotions and situations, requiring you to use a paragraph instead of a sentence as you would in some other languages. ::;^d::

    My pic helps me find my posts in long threads as well as give my own personal touch to a semi-uniformed list of blackbackground posts. I don't really mind the length on anyones posts due to sig pics.

    I'd disagree about pics not being allowed as they can be used to better identify the poster or for the poster to advertise their clan etc, however i have noticed alot of OTT sigs on this site, most forums have a size limit for sigs of about 500 x 100 pixels sometimes slightly more sometimes slightly less. Whether the admin want to place restrictions or not is up to them, but some people do need to resize their sigs to something a bit more conservative as it can make posts harder to read if the sigs are too big.

    You have a avatar on the side for "self". In general I really don't care about the sigs, if they are not animated. (animated gif are annoying) and they are smaller than 100x30 and less than 2K. 

    Some of you have a bill board for a sig!

    I think thier should be a line in between your posts and your signature, also when i "Quote" someone with a sig, i also get thier sig in the quote to and its annoying to have to delete every time(not sure if this is everyone but i know it does it when you quote BurningMan)

    Not to be a pedant or anything, but it's Cobain with a C.  As to whether they were the second greatest band ever...let's just say that's a matter of opinion.

    I don't care for the big pictures in signatures, but that's just me.  I'm with Clever Glove in that they're not that bad unless they're animated. 

    I would amend the title equation to read Animated GIFs + Sig = BAD.

    I hear ya guys!  I hate freakin' hate those animated images in people's sigs.  Geeze, they're so .... distracting!  It's not like my mind can process static white words on a black background while a gif is moving around in another section of the same post!  What do they think I am?- Literate or something? [/end sarcasm]

    Moving images in sigs straight suck! ...

    If it's more often bigger than the text part of your post, either shrink it or get rid of it...

    so if you use a picture that's 800x600 pixels, you best have a LONG ass post!  Or um... shrink the thing or something... for those phone users...  Personally, I aint got nothing against pictures in sigs, but people should remember that some people are stuck on phone modems and will complain about it.
