Did they increase the Camera Zoom range pls ?

hello,
i was playing daoc for 2 years, i got 2 L50is retired in the mythic database. i was thinking of giving the game another try.
my question is.
did they increase the Zoom distance in 3rd person camera view ? i remember that this was one of the things that bothered me most after playing Linage 2 or other games that let me Zoom away from my Toon further than Daoc.
I had the zoom on my Mouse Wheel.

As far as I've seen it hasn't changed but there is a trick that should work: You can zoom out quite far when sitting inside a boat - haven't tested rams. Just jump in, change your camera and get out again. Maybe it's even possible to save the new distance as default (they introduced a key command to do this). Another way would be to edit the charname-###.ini (and changing this saved default).
