I played UO first. First beta I can remember was AO. I think there was another beta before that but I can't remember. I remember UO though as being something fun. The only part that I did not like was being killed by players. I think that is why I do not like PvP is that I like to explore and did not know at that time about PvP.

The first CRPG I ever played was Exodus: Ultima III on a friend's PCjr! image  The pen and paper games never grabbed me, but Ultima hooked me for life.

Oh my god!  I used to play Exodus ALL THE TIME - and also on an IBM PCjr.  I think I was like 9 or 10 years old...wow!  That is great!!!  Seeing that screen shot was like a serious flashback!  The power of 16 color graphics and 128K of RAM! (yes, that is a 'K' - lol)

Man do I need to get that FAQ up image

Ranks are based on the past 30 days of activity.  They are based on how often you visit the site and the *quality* of what you post here in the forums.  If you have 5 stars now, and leave the site for 30 days, you will have 0 when you return.  Also, under this system you could probably have 5 stars if you visited the site every day and posted 10+ good posts in the past 30 days...it has nothing to do with the quantity of your posts.  Lastly, if and posts are deleted you lose 5 points per post (there are 100 possible).

The Ultima series rocked!  I was a bit older, maybe 16 when I played Exodus.  Yeah, a system w/128k and a 5 1/4" floppy was the biggest, baddest dog on the block.  My first computer was an Apple II+ with 48K and a TV screen for a monitor.  I guess that dates me a bit.  At least it's good to know that the Admin isn't too far behind me image

Hehe.  Ya I remember the PCJr could take those cartridges too.  I actually had a BASIC compiler that I did my first programming on that used that slot.  I think I also had a Kings Quest I game that was cartridge based...LOL.

I think my favorite "old system" was my Atari 1024ST (a whopping 1MB of ram!) - it had 512 colors...so it was amazing on the eyes back then!

I started with MUD, specifically Gemstone.

UO was my first graphical MMOG.

EQ was my first MMOG addiction.  I'm on step 10 now.

Mine was runescape, about 2 and a half years ago.  I played FPS's mostly until my friend made me try runescape, and I really enjoyed it.  After I found out it was called an MMORPG i looked for more MMORPGS, and thats where i found Project Entropia, UO, Ragnarok, and my latest MMORPG; Neocron.

Wow... First ever would be back in the MuD days, LONG before anything graphical and massively multiplayer was around. I still remember being on one mud or another talking with the other devs about the coming of "graphical muds (translation: mmorpgs)" and us all laughing cause they'd never last, boy were we wrong. But since then I've betad almost every major MMORPG release, well, beta'd most of them, played less (due to having beta'd them :::^D::)

    Games I've Beta'd and/or played:
    A Tale in the Desert
    Anarchy Online
    Asheron's Call
    Asheron's Call 2
    Dark Age of Camelot
    Earth and Beyond
    EVE Online
    Everquest
    Everquest Online Adventures
    Final Fantasy XI
    Fung Wan Online
    Horizons
    Hostile Space
    Legend of Mir
    Lineage
    Meridian 59
    MU Online
    Neocron
    Planeshift
    Planetside
    Priston Tale
    Project Entropia
    Ragnarok Online
    Redmoon
    Rubies of Eventide
    Runescape
    Savage Eden
    Shadowbane
    Shattered galaxy
    Star Wars Galaxies
    Thje Realm Online
    The Saga of Ryzom
    The Sims Online
    There
    ToonTown Online

I played Wizardry back in the day.  The actual title was Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord.  It came out in 1983 or so and was written by two guys named Robert Woodhead and Andrew Greenberg.  Not coincidentally, the two main characters in the game were named Trebor and Werdna.  It looks lame, but this was groundbreaking in the early 80s, and it's games like this that paved the way for those we play today.  I called for tech support on something back then and spoke to Robert's sister (and would've talked to Robert if he hadn't been at lunch).  Their company was called SirTech and I think it consisted of Robert, Andrew and various family members.  It was actually pretty cool talking to her and having her tell me some of the in-jokes and other things about the game.  There's no way in the world you'd be able to make a phone call and get that close to the creators today.

Heh, not a very good way to start off mmorpg's, but i'm still hanging in there...
