Everquest: New Everquest (PvP) Server in Testing!

A new Everquest PvP server is in testing. This isn't like standard PvP servers and it's not for the weak hearted. This new server is definitely built for hardcore PvP action where death is not an option. If you die you loose everything, including your level. A system that allows for faster leveling is in place to offset the harsh penalty that resutls fromy dying. The Everquest development team has put in place some special rules for this server (these are directly from the Official Everquest Site):

-         Any character that is slain for any reason what so ever will be reset and placed back into newbie status.  Characters will not be restored or resurrected for ANY reason what so ever.  Once you're dead, you're dead.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

-         Each account will only be allowed one character on this server.  Any PvP death results in the killing player obtaining a number of points based on the levels of the characters involved.  Players can only gain points from characters that are within 5 levels of them.

-        You may loot all tradable items from the corpse of the character you just killed, all other equipment is destroyed with the character.

-        The server will make use of the Firiona Vie no drop rules (few things will be No-Drop)

-          The server will have the old world (Antonica, Faydwer, Odus) plus the Legacy of Ykesha expansion ,  and will only allow characters to reach level 50 with no AA.

-        The server will have a doubled experience modifier to facilitate faster paced gameplay.

-         Players will not be able to turn on /anonymous or /roleplay to hide their current location.

Sounds insane to me. Like EQ's attempt at Quake. What made Quake playable was that it didn't rely on levels and gear was easily replaced. Working even to level 10 to get your newbie gear only to get ganked and sent back to start would be way too frustrating.

You can't even hide your location or your level? Sheesh.

Getting past 20 would be a helluvan accomplishment.

It would make PvE way too hard. I usually die once every couple of days and I've haven't even tried PvP.

The contest and the thrill would be so exhilirating.  It's a a world of constant gamble.  This should have been implemented while I was playing I would have enjoyed it so much
