Far be it from me to question the origins of WAR, but in Warhammer, wasn't chaos a corruption of the flesh that resulted from succumbing to desire, temptation, sin etc? The initial descriptions seem too much like Ebola and not enough like Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness.
Does anyone else feel this way? I remember the really cool small excerpts in the books that you could follow as a character descended into the madness. They changed and made the CHOICE to do so. Chaos wasn't the common cold. It was a reflection of the inner weaknesses of humanity.
Permadeath and environmental challenges are the next great step in the evolution of MMORPGs. Only through true adversity will one feel accomplished. Only in truly knowing you can die will true adversity present itself.

Yes, but that was the front wave so to speak.
The Chaos already have an army built, and sent a plague to the Empire to weaken them before the attack. They probably will, in game, have a clothing option for a starting player to look like a just-mutated, but I would think it would be primarily of the original chaos nature.

Chaos is.... pretty chaotic.. as one could expect
So, chaos don't always act in the same way, on the contrary, chaos almost never act in the same way.
so chaos corruption is very personal and is also very dependant on which Chaos God is corrupting you. Slaneesh do it with lust and temptations, Khorne with bloodlust and destruction, Tzeentch trough dark knowledge and lore while Nurgle trough diseases and plagues.
Chaos factions are almost all the time fighting against each other as much as fighting the other races, but every now and then, like in this case, a gifted infividual emerges and unify the chaos force for some massive invasion. Now, this Chaos Champion, is usually favored by one of the 4 gods, but all of the chaos forces follows him. To devise a plague and then infect the empire, strongest human bastion in the Old World, with it seems like a good plan and it seemingly worked well enough.
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
To make a long story short Slaanesh=pleasures of flesh,temptaion wips and so on
Khonre=Figher god more or less, blood for the blood god yaada yaada ya
Nurgle=Plague,diseases and generaly nasty stuff
Tzeench= the great manipulator,god of mages, deceit and lies
