Do you read a manual before you play a game?

Well some companies put a lot of effort into their manuals, others do not.

I usually play RPG's or adventure games and the manual often contains Lore pertinent to the game I am about to play, so I tend to read them first.

Even FPS games and the like have a section like " this has happened ", or "this is why you do this", and I kinda like thoose.

By the time I have finnished a game, any game, I have usually read the whole manual and know it pretty well.

Verg your right, but did you ever think that you take that route and you forget stuff or you forget how to play. You would refer to the manual.

not really because normally in games such as DMC the movelists, game basics, and all relevant story info can be acessed by a option when you press start.....

but if they didnt have those then yes i would use a manual.

but the one game manual i read and memorized was the game manual for the punisher. It was so stylized. Best of all it had quotes like this.

"sniper rifle- my best choice for putting a bullet in a drug dealers head from a half a mile away"

the whole manual was like that.....
