The best wrap up to a good trip is the ability to talk to people who are determined, no, have the passion to make a great game.  What compounds that passion is the ability to create something that exceeds the limits of the gaming world.

Stargate Worlds will not only be a game that you can interact with, but it will be something bigger as the storyline arcs throughout gameplay and on the little screen.  Today, we spoke with gaming legend Chris Klug as well as the Stargate Worlds Community Manager, Katie Postma.

What is the number one vision of Stargate Worlds? That is a question that has been flying through the community since its announcement.  It's something that Chris Klug, the creative director, has been working on since his hire four months ago.  After watching every episode thus far, he's decided that it's about living in the same world as the TV show. It's about the interaction of characters. Deep down it's about the relationships, the loyalty, comedy and the closeness that these people experience throughout the show.  Groups that stick together throughout the game will benefit more because of this than people who jump from pick up group to group. Guilds will also have an important role within the game.  Guilds will be your community, the squads, your family.  When building technology such as ships like the Prometheus, there will be the need for many people.  Those of you with large guilds rejoice!

Thus said, Stargate Worlds is essentially a group based game. Can you solo? Yes, there will be solo tasks. However, the solo player will not get the full experience that this game is designed to give.

In the conference call, the fact that the game would bleed into the TV series and likewise with the opposite, came into play.  Chris told us that they have the license to cover all aspects of the Stargate world. This includes SG1, Atlantis and any other spin-off that could come about between now and for the lifetime of the game.  This being said, there is an enormous amount of content available to the Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment designers.  With content comes the ability to have a strong Role-playing contigent.  A long time and old school RP'er himself, Chris said that there will be role-playing aspects to the game, but not in the sense that we've seen thus far in the fantasy games.

An added bonus that comes with the content is the ability to take the various races, lore and mythos from the show and plant it into the game. While we don't see much of the Asgaard race moving about in the show, with this property, there are no such limits. We can have Thor walking about and interacting with players.

The beautiful thing about this game is that there are limitless possibilities of ways to expand upon the Stargate Universe.  Strong community, unlimited dreams, unique possibilities. That is what we're looking at with this game.  If you're not a Stargate fan, you will be. If you are a Stargate fan, your greatest hopes are about to come true.
