I wouldn't worry too much about it. As much as I'd like to get into the closed beta, from the sounds of things Open beta will be starting soon. If they follow the path of normal closed beta to open beta transitions all the closed beta characters get deleted and have to start new with the open beta testers. This may not be true, just a guess.

Right now if you purchase the game online, you get a box with it for free that comes with all sorts of cool stuff and an Open Beta account.... Just thought I'd let you all know in case you didn't.

Thanks for the heads up, most of us did know, there have been very long conversations in this thread about it before anyone really knew it was for open beta and not closed beta.

The game is ok, the graphics pretty good, game play so so, but all in all it should do quite well. Like all beta games, they have alot of things that need to be fixed before its released.

its not worth it............ lineage is really messed up. the game play is ok but the fact that it has no deep story makes it really lame. u go around kill monsters and get items.............BIG woop. everyone is crowded in the place too. its implssible to train wen everyone is targeted for the same monster. the graphics are nice and all and the characters are kool but man is it borin. i got accepted played for 3 days and quit.

You must not understand or have never been in a closed beta before. They left out over 80% of the game content, of which starts to get added when the prelude expansion comes out and that expansion comes out during open beta.
Closed beta is right now, you play to find bugs in the system and game mechanics, if you can't handle playing a game to test it only (because you closed beta character will get deleted) then don't play it till retail hits.
I can't stand post like the above were people judge a game that is not even out yet.
I will post up the links to what the prelude expansion adds (open beta).
And what the Chronicle 1 expansion adds (retail version).

Okay you just lost all credability you may or may not have ever had Raptor.
The point of a beta is to test bugs true, but it's also to test the CONTENT of the game. To TAKE out the content, which you claim equals 80% of what's missing is a big chunk of a game to take out that they're asking ppl to test. I'm in beta myself have been since CB started. If 80% of the content was taken out WHY are they adding more as beta goes along??
Granted they are planning on adding new depth to the game in the future, but what I'm talking about is funcionality of certain things like the lack to set key bindings, or the fact the game isn't even fully translated. It's got good graphics, some bugs to work out still, but as for the leveling tread mill, it's just the same ole boring thing it's always been in other mmorpg's, seems a little worse to me in this one actualy. When I beta test mmorpg's, I do a lot of the tedious out of the way stuff to LOOK for bugs, at the same time though I take into account: is the gameplay interesting, is there a good story to follow, is the combat system balanced, how are grief issues. Saddly Lin2 isn't doing so well imo on most of that
Personaly I don't like the game as of it, but I'm still playing it, testing it rather. I DO agree with you on how MANY ppl tend to play beta tests thinking it's a 'free preview' and not ya know... a beta TEST. Oh well can't change the mob mentality. As for the deletion of closed beta characters, that seems true thus far, but there's talk that they'll let ppl keep their open beta characters... Kind of unfair to those players who want to wait to play the finished game, a reward yes for those who test it, but not many ppl who play in open betas are there to test... Just get an early start and a free ride. Like I said, I'm in the beta and if I did want to buy the release, and had a level 50 what ever, I'd STILL want them to wipe the server before launch.

I really hope that *insert game name here* will be the first game to ever live up to all of its pre-release promises, maintain a manageable hype level and have a clean release. Just don't expect me to hold my breath.
Even if they let players bring "open beta" characters into the retail version, I think it's safe to say there will also be some brand new servers opened on release day.
I pre-ordered two copies for myself and wife from Ebgames. They charged me 10.95 for shipping for the pair. That might be a pre-pay for shipping the retail version but I'm not sure.
Anyway we are playing the beta and decided to cancel my order for now, canceled online without a problem. Not that we don't like the game, but usally I can get the game faster at a local EBgames, but they didn't have the pre-order boxes.

I signed up on the site about 10 days ago, but I think it's too late. I really really wanted to play too. =(
