News from Vuuar
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello fellow citizens of Ganareth,
Long time now I didn't take my pen (keyboard) to tell you something about this game...
First of all, yes I always try to often read forums to get the sensitivity of our community. Even if don't post I read it! And sometime, I would like to be blinded...
So thank's again to you for your constructive criticism, just try to stay correct each others, it will be better for everyone and more constructive. I can't imagine some of you passing so much time on forums for destruction only, if they don't have any hope, deep in their heart, to get DnL like they first imagine... Often hate is proportional to the deception of love...
So to come back to the game, yes FARLAN and NP3 are not Sony or Vivendi... Yes DnL is not so polish as could be done WOW or EQ2, but DnL has some differences too, that we can be proud!
- One huge world with more than 400 000 monsters on it, no MMO can be compared to this... With no server crash at the launch. That is what FARLAN congrats, for sure we still have got some balancing troubles.
- The feeling of freedom is amazing in this game, you can discover and chase as you like, without be obliged to stay on a zone before going to an other... That's why some players are disapointed, because they would like to be on a spot to farm and lvl up quickly... I just have to say, group each others and go for adventure, Xp will come after the pleasure.... (We already fixed the group XP, and we will fixed the cap Xp for highher lvl this week)
- Lvls range of monsters are done by barony, so explorers have to discover it for others and give them indications. Each barony is already huge to chase and density of monsters is good enoug on your mini map, just track them...
- PvP zone is for lvl 20 and more (Dark, Light, and Al Drifa kingdoms are now only PVE), Pionneers have to win some more SXp to be able to build a Fortress or an Exploitation.. First, create powerfull guilds for... Fortresses and Exploitation will be hard to maintain, so only powerfull guild could support it.... This part of play is pure multiplayers experience, it's the next stage of game after chasing Mobs in group...
- You already know now that you can't find any good finished weapons or armors on Mobs, you have to craft them... The maximum quality that could be crafted by players is 100 (for Epic Items). The only sold quality on NPCs sellers is 0. So crafters have nice margin progression on this world... More recipes will be find on Higher level NPCs sellers this week. Thanks again for our pionneers to be patient a little mor time... Not easy to be 35 with noobs equipment! Try create or help your guild to be more powerfull for this week.. Every new player is a potential recruit!
To conclude, this game is really different from others and will be as well as your investment in. Be sure that we are always looking forums to get your feeling about it... The most difficulties are behind us now... Ganareth is now alive for a long time, even if some predicators aren't be sure of that....
NP3 has still some few hard weeks to work and patch and patch again, but we are still confident in this project and we are sure, after this painfull launch (so much delay), when all will coming more polish, players will only have pleasure on Ganareth...
For now, thank you again for your support and it will be always a pleasure for me to come and random play with you for some time in game (not with Vuuar Character!)

P.S : sorry for my froggy's english...Hope you will be able to understand my mind...

And if you can figure out what it actually means...let's us all know, please.
@OP:
Yeah, it's unusual to see a Developer actually talking in the forums to the users (something that only seems to happen early on in an MMO).

As ye SOE, so shall ye weep.
You know, it should no longer be acceptable to release games so incomplete. I don't mind a bit of server stability (servers can be replaced) or lag from too many players (adding more servers isn't too hard), but when a game is just, incomplete, it's sad.
Eventually, companies need to know that this is not an acceptable form of launch in the MMO game world. Why they seem shocked at the level of anger is beyond me. Yes, the world is big. That's about it.

What that "asshat" (as Naar refers to him as) SHOULD be doing is posting on the damn official websites instead of trolling game sites as this. That's because they're only concerned about image like a politician. They don't want possible customers to get turned off before they can rip them off.
Developer Bob or whatever your name is, post on the official forums and tell your existing customer base what the hell you're doing to fix the game instead of talking to people who are just now discovering DnL. Don't turn your back on the commitment you've already made, dammit.

Go figure.
Turn his back? That scumbag not only turned his back long ago, he pulled his pants down as well.
It is up to us, the players, to let them know. DO NOT buy this game. Do not make excuses for them, do not give them another chance. Do not wait for the miracle patch. Don't buy, and if you did get a refund any way you can.

If you look at the link in the op, you'll see that the dev post WAS from the official forums. Now while anyone who is talking about how great the game is in it's current state needs their rose-colored glasses knocked off their head with a BIG stick, I find the amount of sheer venom directed at the game and it's devs disturbing and pathetic. Now just so I'm clear what I'm basing my opinion on: I have followed the game closely ever since it first appeared on MMORPG.com, but decided to stay back from it even before we first heard those much maligned initials S O G. In watching all the changes, back-steps, and reductions showing up in the course of development I came to believe that the devs were sorely lacking in both experience and money. I think they set their sights too high for their abilities and that's why they're in the situation as it exists. With probable funding trouble they did this "paid beta", and while I don't like it I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they were trying to get the game completed, not rip folks off as some have accused.
I mean cmon, this release sucks but it's no Aging Realms of Tormented Mourning. Heck, for that matter, from what I've seen described here and on other boards, DnL's release isn't that much different from the relentless anal violation that was the Horizons release. I'm gonna keep watching. Because the real test of this game's long term worth is going to be what the devs do to recover from this lousy release over the next 2-4 months.

From your comments you have not even been inside the game right Komarr? I suggest you read the DNL forum a bit more. This is an all mmo game site. Read their own forums. The "venom" you speak of is being demonstrated right now by the ones you have your self same vision, however, they HAVE played the game. The ones here I believe have even played the SOG.
I wish I had found this forum before I pulled out the credit card. I didnt need two more months to tell me this is the worst game I ever been in. I like you didnt believe the threads at their forum and dismissed the seemingly juvenile posts relating their disappointment and feelings of well, betrayal.
I too now have requested my money back and yes only after 1 day. What I read on the forums, here and on the other sites is exactly what the game is. I have sent an email for a request for refund because this game is a complete lie. I for one do not wish to pay a full price for an incomplete and obvious beta test, much less subscribe to it.
You might do well to heed the threads.

First, I totally hate emo posts. So whining "we know we are not sony", gawd... I have seen that way to plead people to be patience last time from SONY itself, when SWG was about to be torn to pieces. Now I am really against hate postings and flame wars, I try to dim them when I could, but I dont like to be asked for mercy and care bear hugs by the company who I paid for their product.
The bottom line is, there is a product, and I can't do anything real there. I can hardly call those quests complete, mob level ranges go missing (at the Gnome starter area we had lv 1-4, and then a gap and the next mob was a few of 10 and then a huge gap and next was lv 35++ mobs, nothing for my lv 5 Gnome to kill.) My camera and character movement is like playing it drunk on a small sailboat in the Pacific Ocean in a Tsunami! Many things can lack at release, ok, but this is just too much, sorry. It has become a gaming industry habit to sell incomplete products, and this is not acceptable. Not at that degree we are talking about. It's not like a few things aren't there. Just try working as a mage. Its impossible. All friggin spells are constantly interrrupted. Who in the devils 23 names tested this class? I could go on, but some basic things must be there.

It's acceptable because people still shell out their money for stuff knowing that it's high risk and probably a pipedream.
And companies know what is acceptable and not acceptable based on their profit or losses. If they are in profit all the complaining in the world isn't going to do any good because they see the money coming in regardless of how much people complain.

Blizzard... Leave a their chance... Sorry my english is bad ...
The whole reason for this hostility towards farlan and co is NOT becuase the game sux, but becuase they game sux AND farlan tried to cower it up with pretty words and try to sell it to us. I was thinking VERY hard to preorder or not, THANK heavens my caution prevailed because I simply did not have any solid info on this game, Farlan played it well becuase if everyone would be able to see what type of game D&L or SOG was, then no1 would preorder it (well, except some diehards and weirdos).
I compare this game to every other game I played or tested. When I testest WoW I saw iwth my own eyes that that game had huge potential, it was clearly a well designed and polished game ( if u dont like WoW thats fine, tastes differ) but technically, WoW was nearly perfect at launch. THOSE games we need to support and ecourage, not D&L, not Horizons, not anything that is incomplete or broken. If Farlan and Co fails, I will rejoice becuase Farlan2 will think twice before trying to sell me another magical product. Thats why everyone is so pissed off, not at the game, but at how this game was showed down our throats, with all the lies and deceptions.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

its not just buggy and incomplete and with a price tag (+ the decepticon stuff)
some parts of the game are flawed. Combat system is the best (worst?) example.
In the car example it would be having the car stop when you turned the wheel right go reverse when you turn the wheel left and start when you open the doors
