Since Everquest 1, i have see no game that give power to soloer.. Yes you can choose to play solo ( WoW, Eq2, DAOC etc... ) but it defenely not giving the rewards like the old Eq days. I remember my Necromancer killing yellow aviaks at level 46, the xp rewards was better then any groups. Sure you need to play it well, but if you can take it and you choose to take the hardest ways... why don't you get the better cut of the cake ?? In Eq2 you can solo, but defenetly the quest are nearly imposible to achieve at the proper level and the xp was simply horrible. Some class is simply a grouping one, like cleric, enchanter, warrior, hybrid... But if you choose magician, necromancer and druid.. why the developer just don't let you play like you want to.. ?? It's just normal is you choose a class that don't give good benefice in group, that class need to rock in solo.. ! In old Eq1, my friend have pick a magician... at high level he was able to recover some items only his class can get in dongeon, and its the good way to reward a good player... anyways this is my opinion on it. I hope Vanguard will truly be the spiritual sucessor of Everquest....

I think what they are trying to do is make it so that every class is beneficial to a group setting. No you aren't going to have your Soloing powerhouses. It isn't fair, to be honest.
Now, for the obligatory...
If you want to solo... play a 1 Player Game.
Being able to solo should be as easy as I've seen it in WOW. They seem to have pulled it off properly and thus hope that a simiilar situation is implemented in this game.
Not everyone loves to group ALL the time, me I go both ways. So to speak o.0
True balance makes it so you can do either at your choosing, not at certain levels.
Just my two cents.
Hence the 20% Solo/Casual content. Play that 20% while in LFG. =P Playing well with others should be the focus of an Massively MULTIPLAYER Online Game.
WoW did do soloing well, and the reason is appeared to work so well was because it was very easy to level. While that made soloing easier, it had other drastic effects on the game, such as the deterioration of Community and the General lack of knowledge and Skill of most End Game Players.
I know a Paladin that didn't know he could ressurrect until about level 43ish. -_- He leveled so fast that the abilities of the class exceeded his knowledge of those abilities. Maybe he's just dumb, but I'm not sure it's entirely uncommon.
It's not, read the post above yours. My comment was for those that ONLY want to Solo.
It was this comment alone I was referring to:

...since it has been said many times. It's that 'love it or leave it' attitude that begs for response. I am not saying you necessarily think that way (though you did post it), just that it's far too black and white for this issue. And it is by no means obligatory unless it is your undying opinion.
But I do agree on the solo powerhouse issue you mention. I just think players should be able to do either, and it seems you do, too.
