It looks like you're new here. If you want to get involved, click one of these buttons!
This is what got me interested in this game, and if anyone can find me a game with almost all these features coming soon, please link me up, I would love to check it out, other wise I fear I'll be waiting 5+ years (based on mmorpg development cycles) before I again see a game having this list.
.
What I want in any future game:
Huge World at least the size of DnL
Fantasy based
Land and Sea based
KvK
Trade routes that can be set up and attacked
Complex crafting
Gods that effect everything from Mobs/Crafting/War
Fort/Castle/City building, that can be upgraded
Mass Combat of at least 500 players, with siege
Politics, that includes land ownership/control, army building, the Lord class/Warrior class/Peasant class
Economic development along the lines of taxes, crops/farming, mob/farming, mining, trade routes
Massive view distance for immersion
One World for all
Strong roleplaying elements, GM's, Events, GM Quests on the fly (no loading)
Exploration including map making of resources/places of interest/enemy settlements
Real flight, as in Dragon/handgilders of DnL
Huge and interesting weather systems, real snow, real sandstorms, real waves, real wind
Extreme sports, like snow/sand boarding, parachuting, catapult launching
Migrating Mobs (non-linear placement of Mobs)
Interesting music, not modern music, something exotic/different
Constellations controling aspects of game life
Huge tameable mounts
Realistic drops from mobs
Mob hunting, not easy to find to just grind and camp, must work at it and truely hunt for your kill
.
Thats some of what I want. I realise DnL is working on getting many of these to work, but that is part the feature list that I like

Anyone with a suggestion of a soon to be released game with most of this feature list?
I would really like to know if one exists
up PA (not like you need the buzz, but whatever...). Using one of the
hundreds of shill accounts they have across the net, they post a new
thread that says something like "hey guys, I've been looking for some
new web comics to read. Anybody have any recommendations?" This is
non-threatening, and gets the community engaged. They then wait a
couple days and post again, this time with "Well, I asked some friends
and they suggested I check out Penny Arcade . I
thought it was pretty funny, although I didn't like all the cuss words.
What do you guys think?" Again, seeking engagement, they now have
stealthily inserted the client's link, thereby encouraging trial. It's
all very measurable and very effective. You should see the monthly
reports you get from these guys: everything is detailed."

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
What does it matter what they promise. Hell only half of what is on that list is in the game and most of that is broken. They can't even get combat right, what makes you think that anything else will work. EQ 1 has better game play than this game.
How long will people keep getting strung along by their promises. Old saying "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn't"
I miss DAoC
Fully 75% of the things on that list arnt in game and don't work. Before I hear one more word about just launched I have 4 words for you that wins every argument. 6 years in development.
^Wow major screw up on the quoting
To everyone else I'm looking for something like the list to replace DnL if it doesn't work out, so hold back on the indignation
I have a feeling that Without a doubt he'll look at that one... and he's thankful for the suggestion
Check out the latest e3 video at their site. All done with the engine. I'm waiting for it too.
Ok I just watched that video... and OMG! sweeeet!
I see this is one I will have to be part of, looks bloody nice... got some reading to do
- WAR
- Vanguard
- AoC
- Gods and Heroes
games im sort of considering but dont know much about:
-Darkfall
-Hero's Journey
-LOTRO
-Roma Victor
currently my best hopes are on Vanguard and AoC. But Ive heard some great things about WAR and Gods and Heroes, and both of them had realy good video clips (in game footage).
I suggest you check official sites and trailers for the first four games, and if you have time for the second four games I listed.
I am the type of player where I like to do everything and anything from time to time.

Their technique is quite insidious. Let's say they were hired to pump up PA (not like you need the buzz, but whatever...). Using one of the hundreds of shill accounts they have across the net, they post a new thread that says something like "hey guys, I've been looking for some new web comics to read. Age of Conan - check it out so the DNL guys can maybe figure out how they did it and DNL can thus keep their promises.
What Farlan and its representatives have been giving the community are all fantasy that has not been delivered.
Can you please list in your list how many of the above features are fully implemented in D&L now?
Now with that list in hand, we can easily list the current MMORPG that has those features.
Potential and promises does not mean anything unless it is implemented.
Like many has said before, a blank piece of paper has alot of potential, its up to the writer to make soemthing about it.
Only when it is a finished product will we see if the potential actually made it to reality.
Hyping up a game that one has never even touched in its current release state is the same thing as putting a blind eye to what is really happening in it.
It is the similar to watching soemone getting murdered and not doing anything about it and letting the murderer go to commit another crime someday.
With that said.
I do hope we do find a game with all those features you just listed.
But I do suggest that instead of hyping up a game you have yet to touch, you go buy this game so you can personally understand what many of us feels about it.
If you really want I may even give you access to my Refunded Pioneer Account that can somehow login to D&L still.
I am sure you can find many Refundees that may be willing to give you access to check out D&L for yourself if the $60 is too much for you.
But please understand and don't take this too hard.
Stop hyping up a game and attacking those that have already experienced D&L first-hand.
Go buy or borrow a D&L account so you can experience it for yourself before you start your crusade on hyping up one of the worst MMORPG that have entered the genre!

My Sager 5760 Review
Hiya Blacksac,
I too am looking forward to AoC. Hopefully they can pull it off.
However, it does leave a lot off of your list. After all you list is quite demanding. I think the AoC world will be a lot smaller than what you are looking for. Also, it isn't in the fantasy genre (as in trolls, elves, etc.)
Just a question for you:
Don't you think the mmorpg standard of "fantasy" mileu is kinda tired?
Personally, I'd like to see some more innovation in the areas of settings for mmorpgs. Auto Assault comes to mind as one attempt. However, I can't get into role-playing as a car. If they would of made it like a real apoloyptic 'Mad Max' mmo, I'd been all over it. Basically your vehicle shoulda been like a mount that you can fight with.
Huxley is an mmorpg in the Games in Development column that looks interesting to me as well.
Anyway, I look forward to hearing your thoughts, blacksac...
