Which was done directly after E3, we were supposed to get some sort of information some time in June. Well it's the end of June, or nearly anyways and to my knowledge, they've yet to release anything tangible.
Again, there seems to be a basic failure to understand the dynamics by which you need, MUST, treat your community. From what I can tell there has been no announcement about a delay for the information or even what that info may be to begin with.
The sad part is this is becoming an expectation of RR, most people said that this was going to happen and it has and crux of it is, it would take very little to get people re-inspired.
Anyways, I'm really begining to think there's quite a bit we're not being told here and I would not be surprised if we see the project being put on hold at some point in the future, or something along those lines.

Well I just asked the question as officially as possible I suppose, on their forums.

I doubt that it will be answered but it's worth a shot. I'm really starting to question my own intelligence and reasoning as to why I even care at this point, I really think it's just the curiosity and absurdity of the entire situation that has me hooked, I really just can't wrap my head around it.

You got answered. Oh and dear lord MMOCenter needs to break down and get a better image for their forums.

WOW !!! I am completely flored, this company is absolutely amazing, the reply I received to my question from CG is just... unreal.
here's the linky to the question here:
http://mmocenter.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1966
and here's the reply if you don't want to follow the link:
"This discussion has already taken place in the Beta Area, information was given to the Closed Beta Community.
I certainly did not promise MMORPG.com anything on any given date, since you're asking me personally."
Topic Locked
"A lock does not mean carry it over to another/new thread."
Now, here's the article at mmorpg.com again: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/78566
Now can read that and say that the comment meant the information would only be made available to the Beta Community. WTH ???
This has to be joke reply, right? Did CG even KNOW about the comment to mmorpg.com, does he even give a damn how this looks? Am I the only who thinks this is a completely, over the edge crazy?
GAH !!!

I found it rather curious that they would tie it in with an annoucement to the beta community. You don't make a public annoucement that news is coming and then just say it was for the beta community. The beta community should have their own internal way of getting such annoucements.

You asked me personally, I answered personally... the thread was directed solely at me. If you would like a Company Line - I suggest asking, instead of pointing it at me. It is well known I read every last post on the Forums in full, and happily answer the threads I can.
I don't recall that News Posting to have been saying it would be public information, so why should our Beta Community not get it first? That is, after all, part of the promise that came with PreOrdering.

Perhaps if before just now with this post you had made it clear that the beta people were just getting it FIRST. However the way I read it I was under the impression that it was exclusively to the beta people only which makes a big difference.

I asked you because you are the COMMUNITY MANAGER CG. You supposedly take care of the community, this was a community relations subject.
Please, if there's someone else that will support us and answer questions to the people that want to support this game, by all means, FILL ME IN. PLEASE!!!
And I honestly can't believe what I'm reading here, so basically what your saying is that each and everytime we get a comment that is made PUBLICLY, we should all assume that only people involved in the private beta will get it.
Furthermore, your saying that should I have a question about this, I should specifically ask the person regardless of whether they have a role with the community or not???
You do realize what this sounds like right???

I was giving advice for further postings.
I assume every thread is directed for answering by the CM (me), as that is what asking questions on the official forum is for, right?. When you put my name in it, I assume it's a personal question.
I think this is fair on 2 levels:
1 - We get to avoid lots of "LOOK DEVS!" threads, as every thread is looked at by the Developers (as it should be, right?).
2 - Sometimes I do get questions asked directly towards me from people who don't use the PM system.
As I've been using this method for close to 9 months now, and this is the first issue I've had, I'm going to have to assume that the system has worked great.

I completely understand what your saying there CG.
I "assumed" you were the person to go to in regards that particular comment and apparently, your not. So lesson learned, I applogize for directing it your attention, if the thread were not locked, I would edit to correct the mistake. I will make all possible attempts to find out who the question "should" have been directed towards as I also hate to see those "look here devs!" posts.
I will also take care to not "assume" that comments in the future, such as:
"The Chronicle remains in full-scale development, with more information to be released sometime in June. Their current priorities are general polish and continuing to expand and improve the visual look of the game."
are directed to the general public and are most likely only meant for Beta Testers. I personally feel that was an EASY trip up on my part but your obviously not in much of a mood to indulge me today so I'll take the blame for that one also.
Futhermore, I will start taking exact literal meanings to all public releases made on behalf of RR. As you said: "I don't recall that News Posting to have been saying it would be public information".
Let's forget the fact that also did not say it was for PRIVATE information, because again your obviously not in a mood to indulge me today and let's go with, anything unless specifically including a note that it will made available to the public should be assumed that will it only be given to beta testers or privately interested parties. Fair enough.
This is all good information by the way, all things that would have been good to know, before hand.

Also that's the biggest bunch of BS. they never gave any worthwhile info to the beta community either. Just more smoke and mirriors. I can't/won't go into what info has been released due to NDA, but CG is just blowing smoke up your rump it's pretty much silent and uninspired in the beta forums as well.
As far as CG's system working great and this being the "first" issue with it...well that's just more CG rose colored glasses. He has been critizied, very effectivly, about his unprofessional and "personilized" demenor. He wants to be Community leader and Fanboi and doesn't seem to comprehend that doing has destroyed his credibility with the majority of the community. Not that there is much of a community left.
lmao! dont even try it CG. Its bad enough you belittle and piss on your own community members though your dry wit, dont try it here.
The lady asked a question, she got sarcamsm double talk, and a CM who would rather win a 1 on 1 argument on techincality than set a good impression of the community.
Oh, and the beta community doesn't get any extra info or courtesy either, dont try it cg quit spinning and lying for a change. Unless you count some poor shlub visiting the studio and getting a kosher hotdog exclusive info.

Which is just what he was attempting to do. His argument was horrible to begin with (if you annonce to the general public there will be information released you insinuate that the information will be for the general public) and then he attempted support it through a lie that this information was released to the beta community.
Just to clarify on a few notes and to be fair about this entire situation. I think it's safe to mention that CG was kind enough to PM my mmocenter.com account with a reply to my post.
Now, the conversation was nowhere near what I wanted, no information was given to me about the game or anything, of course no appologize regarding shutting my thread down, making a fool of me or any of that.
What CG did mention, which I think would be fine to share, was that this entire situation did not come from poorly chosen words by someone commenting on behalf of mmocenter to mmorpg.com BUT in fact he claims that the comments from the article I linked earlier, that stated mmocenter would be releasing TC information in June, were never actually given by any mmocenter staff member he could find to begin with.
So now we are left with a few options. Option A) MMOCenter has a rogue employee spouting off information to the press about it's game, then denying he/she did so in the first place. MMOrpg.com is blatantly making up content for articles. C) MMOCenter is falsely giving out information, then retracting and blamming others. D) Someone is pretending to be an MMOCenter employee and giving out info.
Personally, if I were this company, I'd be none to happy about any of these options but it's hard to know exactly what the reaction is at the moment. CG did not care to comment further about what happened. I have emailed, pm'ed what little contacts I could find over at MMOCenter in regards to this situation, as I now know that CG is not the person to go for this particular information. I've yet to be replied to obviously.
I've also sent an email to Dana here at mmorpg.com about this and havn't heard anything yet, hopefully something will come in at some point.
Other then that, I guess all I can do is wait, hopefully someone at some point actually cares enough about the community to set things reasonably straight. I still think it's a crying shame that those of us who actually pay for these products in the end are treated so poorly by the very people who would have us pay their bills later.

Presumably it was announced at E3 as it was an E3 update. Certainly there is precedence for mis-communication between developers and press at E3, but given RR’s history it’s hard to give them the benefit of doubt. However, given that it’s been two months if an information release wasn’t in the works why not instruct people before the dead line passed and avert the building of expectation. There have been many opportunities before now to have stated there was an error but insteadCG has even confirmed the expectation of information and spoken about it’s delay. CG is like a slot machine you pull his arm and just wait for random crap to roll out. Everything he says seems contradictory.
I can see how this could come to pass and just be a misunderstanding and not simply backpeddling to cover their incompatent butts, but even given a scenario of misunderstanding it illustrates a total ineptness in the communication in the company and lack of serious consideration and expectation for the quality of their project. It just seems every step that RR makes not only fails to inspire any confidence, but only adds to their portfolio of screw ups and if they have such horrible PR and buisiness corridnation I don't see how anyone could believe they have the coordination to bring something considerably more complexed, like several computor games, under control.
Reguardless of who made or didn't make the statement about a June information release it's certainly RR's fault for this deadline to have passed and this statment to never been addressed. It is inexcusable that this has become the expected type of quality of representation and even more inexcusable that RR doesn't seem bothered in anyway that the community/industry veiws them as a bunch of inconsiderate screwups.
Wow, I'm glad you speak for the community/industry and that you actually count. I mean, RR must be doomed to have such a well respected and upstanding official that speaks for the gaming industry condeming them. Oh Noes!! RR is ruined!
In every forum you continue to be a rude ass. I'm ashamed to be part of the TC community because of your actions.
