i didn't play the korean version but by reading the latest IGN preview about the kind of weapons in the game. it says that even unarmed is not completely naked (like bare handed) you are always using some kind of gloves, gauntlets or claws. So there shouldn't be any disadvantage.

Several clans have classes that specialize in unarmed combat aka. hand-to-hand combat. They are Shaolin, Wu-tang, beggars, and Majiao.

Also, will you be playing the US version of the game, or are you sticking with the Vietnamese version?
