F.E.A.R Combat (Free FPS Multiplayer)

Monolith decided to let the multiplayer part of their game FEAR be free. I have been playing it on and off for the last 2 days or so and it is defenatley worth the download (and the price, muahahah)

Any FPS fans out there that have not tried FEAR or have but didn't want to buy it (like me) then sign up and get the game.

I tried it and I think it sucks. All you are doing is running around (by yourself) and shooting with no advancement/ranks that I know of and only 10ish weapons to choose. It's a very pointless game. Atleast BF2 has advancement, unlockables, teamwork, goals/scoring points other than killing (Spec Ops/Engy), vehicles....ect.

Teamwork for me was a pain because nobody talks about strategy (because there is none) and a lot of the combat is in VERY close quaters so it's very hard to see around your partner and not shoot him.

I got bored very fast and uninstalled. I like FPS's a lot but this sucked.

this looks like fun.

Just the download is going to be more fun than downloading Saga of Ryzom.

I won't dnl it as I don't have a capable machine, but just out of curiosity.: Do you need the retail game to play it, or is it a standalone game?

It is a standalone game.

...and to Alex. That is the same reason why I didn't buy the game in the first place.

downloaded it because it was free, I haven't bothered to install. I might set it up on the LAn for thoise Deathmatch moments between games.

(You know the ones where everyone is so pissed off with each oither that co-op has turned into a TK fest).
