KoS

"KoS" stands for "Kill on Sight". Vanguards complicated Faction System places various Races against eachother for Historical & Social reasons. If you are on the KoS list for a particular location, you will be attacked on sight, unless you increase your Faction for that Location / Race by doing various tasks (Adventuring Missions & Diplomacy mostly). When creating a character it's recommended that you consider your Race's Faction Standing carefully, as it can take a large time investment to improve your Faction Standings.

Why would a site have a whole section for a game if they didn't like it.  Also, keep this post strictly to the information.

I would add  Ryunes ciompilation thread and Ten Ton Hammer to the list.  Ten Ton Hammer is arguably the best Vanguard Fan site with the most news and updated information.

I'm watching this game pretty closely!

  • Blue3000Blue3000 Member Posts: 238

The cat (mount) on the video sure seem like an Alley Cat.  I'm allergic to cats, yuck!

But I can't wait for this game to come out.  One of the best things I like is there are no instances which unlike WoW is great.  You'll meet others on your travels and missions.

Question:  When you use your flying mounts, can you land anywhere or it's just to get from point A to point B and you have to go to a certain departure and arrival station?

Great information of this op, great going!

    1) If I make a Vulmane (Wolf/Dog) Ranger, I'm going to ride a Cat... I mean, come on...

    2) Community is important in this game, and since travel is a must, you are ALWAYS meeting poeple. I recommend you read up on the Fellowship and Caravan Systems if you haven't already, they are extreamly interesting.

    3) You can land a Flying Mount anywhere the slope of the terrain allows it. You can fly anywhere you wish. Eventually, they do plan on adding Mounted Combat... /drool

    4) Thank this great community!

    Many thanks.

One thing I haven't read about is pvp combat.  I imagine they will have it but how will it be?

    1. Will it be on pvp only servers? And regular servers with no pvp?

    2. How will it work?  Faction vs faction, or race vs race as in WoW?

I'm trying to read as much as possible on Vanguard.

I believe I read where its in beta. But if you pre-order the game it can you join the server for beta?

Is January still the release date?

    Thanks

    1) There will be multiple Ruleset Servers, including Full PVP, Regular, RP, etc.

    2) There will PVP on all servers, to some degree. On regular Servers they are hinting that there will be areas where you will have a PVP Flag based on your Dip Scores & Guild... no official details have been announced.

    3) It will vary per server, but it seems your Dip Scores (what various groups think of you) & your Guild Alliance will play a part. There are no WoW style "Sides", but you can ally yourself with Kingdoms and effect larger political / military disputes, or at least the Dev's said a while back.

    4) I'm not sure how the pre-order works. Be sure to check thier site.

    5) Febuary to MArch seems to be closer to the release date... butthere have been no announcements.
