I'd like to see a 'Space Opera RPG' sort of like Star Trek that uses multiple engines.
I'm not entirely certain why developers haven't looked at this type of thing... What I'm getting at is a game where you cane conceivably freely fly your spaceship about and then land places and get out and walk around etc - space stations, planets etc.
I understand the limitations that would be put on the areas of planets, due to the required sizes of said places, but we're talking about an RPG here not some piece of eye fluff built for Grafics whores!
I'm looking forward to Star Trek Online, but I just can't be certain that it will be what I'm hoping for - it's site is a little vague on just what their ambitions are...
As a roleplayer, I really don't care about load times or having to change a disc - only console flunkies and 14 year olds care about it taking more than 30 seconds to load! The rest of us just want good games and don't care if it takes 5 minutes for one of the most enthralling space adventures to unfold before you...
