to be honest, i HATE click to move , i absolutely HATE it. but i LOVE 9d that should tell you a lil something about the rest of the game, it got the goods to make up for the craptacular click to move interface

seriously, you probably didn't even try the game.
What game doesn't have you click on an enemy to kill it? A FPS game? Then leave here and go somewhere else. If you're going to bash all the point and click games out there, then you're pretty much screwed.

Generally, when people refer to "point-and-click," they're talking about MOVEMENT. Any game that was ever made for PC involves clicking at some point or another, and to suggest that he meant "I hate clicking PERIOD" is just ridiculous.

You click to move for a few levels and then auto-run clciks in.
To bash on a game, you should try it for more than a f'in day.

Yup, they'll be making plenty of money when we can all play for free. *rolls eyes*
if it is only point and click then yes it does forfill the criteria of crap...Dungeons and Dragons Online Stormreach offers point and click but also a free style combat system that allows you to avoid missiles and magic attacks, roll, use shield to block or even use shield as weapon...Conan will offer better combat as does Roma Victor. Shoot em ups dont have auto targeting either, I believe, or at least Project Entropia does not!
I would have hoped that a martial arts game would play more like a console game and not the retarded point and click system...
he is either referrring to the retarded system of pointing on map to move around as opposed to pressing R or some other button to run...see Archlords as a classic example of this = pure crap!
AND/OR
the fact so many games have auto target i.e. you point and click on target and then it is auto target. Very unsatisfying and gladly many games are offering a solution to this infantile Zelda system
DDO offers real combat
Roma Victor (duff game) offers a body target option as will Conan.
Project Entropia is fundementally about aiming your weapon of choice (rifle, pistol, etc) and thus does not offer any auto target/point and click to lock on system which is very nice!

Hmm since when Zelda is Point & Click ? If anything, it's a true action RPG where you need to press a button for each swing (as opposed to auto attacks) and aim carefully when using ranged weapons.
Never played Zelda but our computer video games lecturer at uni keeps talking about the Z-locking system on it so assume it is auto lock on target, which I personally do not like. I will hold my hand up if I am wrong and to be honest it was silly of me to mention Zelda as not an mmo...don't tell me it is online lol!
I was looking at some vids of game play for 9Dragons and it very hard to determine if it does have point and click auto target (circle only around player but no FP), or in fact, if you need to point on ground and click to move instead of utilizing a run key (typically R).
As it is a martial arts game I would pray it is not auto target but as it is ported from the Asian market most likely it will be "another point and click crap fest"!

Yes, I see what you mean by Z-Lock system but it's far from any auto-target system available in most MMOs. In Zelda (the 3D versions, the original ones were in 2D) it's mainly to help you focus on 1 enemy, Z-Lock helped you strafe/avoid the target's attacks, roll around and of course, aim but it was optional. (I'd totally love to see this kind of system in a MMO, there was one (Korean) but I forgot it's name).
9Dragons has both Point & Click movements and Auto-target, but when you want to run (you have to use a skill called Lightfoot), you have to activate it (corresponding hotkey) and hold the alt key.
an mmo which offers what sounds like the Z-lock is DDO Stormreach (which also offers auto target option for those who prefer it). I could be wrong but maybe you could try a free trial if you are interested. I would say that DDO has the best combat system I have seen so far for an mmo - you need to aim with each ranged shot and you can roll out of the way, use shield to time blocks as well as use it as a weapon! In fact even magic attacks have to be aimed and saving thows allowed by pc and npc so more realistic combat! Of course any mmofps is good as well for much the same reason....

actually, as soon as you select a target in DDO it auto-aims and auto-attacks by default. i believe you can turn this off, though. the rolling and blocking and such really have very little affect on whether or not you get hit. for instance, i had a level 4 thief character with a high balance skill (keeps you from getting knocked down and helps you recover quickly from KDs) and boots of balance (+3 balance). you can also tumble out of the way to avoid KD attacks. however, even with that combination, iron defenders (same level) consistently knocked me down.
the devs *attempted* to fix this. naturally, their idea of a fix was that KD attacks have fewer successes, but you are knocked down for twice as long when they do succeed - even with the high rank in balance. tumbling really became pointless as well - considering mobs hit you either way. it makes me wonder if there's any point in actually increasing skill ranks in balance and tumble...

agreed - i turned auto-aimand auto-attack off for more authentic feel. No game is perfect and DDO has got many other problems. However it cannot be denied DDO offers a lot more dynamic in battle than any other mmo fantasy game I have played.
At least the devs tried to fix that problem for you which is more than many other devs would do. I just hope that Turbine learn from all thier mistakes so that LOTRO will be able to challange the WoW powerhouse!
The battle system may be good.. but if it doesnt get translated into english it might as well not exist since it wont be apprecieated by the western market in korean.
I seen this game months ago, i wanted to try it but i have no paitence for kssn searching.

A perfect example of a MMORPG that does not require a point and click is CoH/CoH where they have both options of either point 'n' clickin' or use the keyboard skills that was discussed earlier. You also get 2 different views - first and third. One Korean shooter/MMORPG named SpaceCowboy only uses point and click system when the pilot is inside the city, not when you are flying your ship. But gameplay with 9dragons is not distracting.
City of Villians
City of Heroes
Space Cowboy
Overall, i think they should dump the point and click system and use the traditional movement keys.
Point and Click movement >>>
'A', 'S', 'D' , 'W', 'X' , and Tab keys movement forever!!!!
I tried this game (yes its admittedly still in beta, but over the weeks I was in haven't seen any changes. Patches yes but no idea what they actually did, no notice was ever displayed, saw no changes and the "developers", translaters, whatever have no contact whatsoever with anyone in the beta that I ever saw, I wantted to make comments, but saw no way to do so), I tried to find some enjoyment somewhere in it but couldn't, really have wantted a good Martial arts type game. I wasn't able to find anything at all "fun" in this... Deeply repetitious and incredibly boring. I certainly realize you can't reasonably expect alot from a free to play game, but then if there isn't something enjoyable involved, even free you just aren't going to do it.
