Okay, I'm lost. What is Player Worlds and who are the "buffoons"?
Pre-orders aren't up and they're not even in beta. Maybe they just don't give a s**t about impressing some kids on MMORPG.com. Maybe they're... working on the game?

since you obvioulsy have no clue ill explain it to you. pre-orders were up , over a year ago and into late 2005 maybe even early 2006. i personally pre-ordered last august when we were being promised beta any day now, and 2 llive games by last fall(2005 fall). they took the pre orders down because they aren't really working on chronicle except as a hobby now until after africa is release, but refuse to pay back the people they scammed.
and before you say it, i know 20 bucks isnt a lot but i hate getting money stolen. i was once 'mugged' coming out of a papa johns by some drunk idiot, all i had on me was 1 dollar and some change, and a box of cheestix with garlic sauce. now thats not worth getting injured or dead over, anyone would agree. but when i asked the dude if he took checks, and he threw a punch at me..i didnt drop the cheestix and run, i dropped them and threw punches back.

You seem to be missing the point, its not anywhere near what you've just said. If you weren't one of the unlucky few who pre-ordered the game back in 2005 or early 2006 then its hard to even take your comments into consideration.
There are a ton of people who pre-ordered, got fewer and fewer tidbits of information as the months went on and then got angry. I was one of those who pre-ordered. I learned from my mistake. Promises won't deliver a great game. The whole point to this thread is that the TC community is fed up with RR. It all started out so promising. Nathan was a great Spokesperson for the game, and a very welcome key member of the community. Something happened and Nathan left. Then CG was elected Fanboi of the month and given a job. Sounded cool at first, then most of us realized that he was nothing like Nathan. Time went by and the thousands of community members got more and more restless. People started demanding new content, screenshots, anything to keep them going in support of the game they hoped to be the next big thing. Nothing happened. Not even a website "in the works since 2005". I gave up on TC, I go back every now and then just to laugh at the lack of activity on their website.
Point is , please dont post your comments if you have 0 clue as to why all these people are angry.
i have read all of the posts and checked the website and i completely understand y u all r upset. im still hoping that they come back to it and finish this game. ive been wanting a Morrowind Online for months now, and this looks like it might b pretty darn close.

Nothing wrong with that. I think anyone who really got into the concept of the game when it was first made public will follow it until we know conclusively whether it's dead and burried or whether it will have some sort of life.
Although I doubt many of us that started supporting from the begining will actually pay attention any further then that but it would interesting to keep an eye on none the les.

I don't defend RR...but you're a bit off-base. Nathan is the root of the problem. He promised too much and RR can't deliver, that is why he left RR. CG can't do anything without Adam Ghetti's approval, if you want to blame someone...aim where it should be...the goofy rich kid that thinks he knows more than the veterans of the industry.

So CG "can't do anything without Adam Ghetti's approval," but Nathan was somehow able to publish a dozen or more developer journals, interviews, and previews over the course of a year without the management ever knowing what was going on? That doesn't sound a little improbable to anyone else, does it?
I think it's more realistic to say that RR was using the Kaneva engine when Nathan produced those ideas, then when he left and they switched engines, it was more convenient to blame RR's troubles on one former employee than for the company as a whole to accept the responsibility of their ameteur decisions and unfortunate setbacks.
It's hilarious to watch these forums, where everyone is blasting RR for lying, cheating, and avoiding their questions about beta tests, release dates, and the game itself, yet the new kid in the CM seat utters "Nathan was the problem" just once and it's gospel. Nobody questions that...

I agree with what paul said I think blamming nathen for the most part is just another excuse for the poor leadership of the company. Back when nathan was community manager Adam was more active in the forums, he was reading them and exponding on things that nathen said. Adam also onfirmed a lot of things nathen said in his own interveiws at the time. I am not saying that nathen didn't over step his bounds at all, but he certainly wasn't in anyway responsible for switching from the keive engine or responsible for clearly not being anywhere close to starting beta last November.
Don't take what I said that I don't blame Adam and Marc Ghetti for poor leadership and an overall crappy business plan. But what has been said is that Nathan promised more than could be delivered on, maybe they knew it at the time...maybe they figured it out too late...maybe they just didn't care (I go with didn't care...but meh). The relationship that Nathan and Adam had was something like co-founders (been too long to remember) where Nathan had the ideas and Adam was to see them implemented. But overall Nathan was more than just a CM, whereas CG is just a CM with Adam and Marc holding his leash so that he doesn't say something they don't want said.
Could be pyros. I personally think that the main reason they let Nathan go was because of the promises he made about the t-shirts, the beta give away and the beta sharing. I doubt they liked him just throwing these beta accounts out there and more importantly I wouldn’t be surprised if RR had already realized the Keive engine wasn’t going to work and never told Nathan. Then RR freaked and blamed Nathan for doing this big media push for when the Beta was suppose to start. That has been my take on the chaos thus far.
I think the blaming of Nathan recently is just a sorry attempt to put off some of the criticism RR has generated. I know they have been getting at least a little pressure from consumer agencies and that may have been an attempt to mitigate others from complaining.
Wow a lot of anger here...all totally justified. And yup Im another preorder lost in the etherworld. Bottom line is that we can demand this or that and they can continue to ignore us. We have no way to force them to give us anything. I did like the petition idea though. So write off the $20, play something else and wait and see if these bozo's are for real or not. Of course if the $20 was beer money weeeell thats a different thing altogether. Cya on the killing fields.

I don't think it's a bunch of kids they need to be impressing, Blissrok, considering most of us complaining are in our late 20s and early 30s
