    Guys,

The staff here is hooked and loooove the project called Mourning...Throne of Chaos.  This is what they want as gamers.  Can't blame them, I see EVE fans and Vanbois all the time, they are not praising this game, they are just hoping and really drooling over the features promised.

DRAMA all you want, when I see a fellow gamer happy and drooling about a game, with enought maturity and comon sense to recognize some flaws and be open to debate them (not trying to convince you as a Vanbois or EVEangelist would do, this is not debate, these subgroups try to change you).

Throne of Chaos is not for me, I will not play it, but if it turn out to be a jewel for some players, cool.  They don't try to convince me I will like it.  Unlike some others games...

Good luck...and the DRAMA is unavoidable I fear.  Can't blame the folks.

In all fairness, let's give Loudant software a break. Seriously.  Let them put the game out and then we try it.

    However
you (mmorpg.com) may want to update the interview since it's two months old.

As soon as I saw Egomancer was still on the project, I pretty much closed the interview right then and there.  He was the main reason (and Dave) why the game fell to pieces and full of lies (remember the porno client they used for the billing ...heh).

Ehhh...I dont know....I would just delete the part where Egomancer is helping LoudAnt.  Egomancer and "Helping" just doesn't go together whatsoever and that paragraph may damned Loudant more than help them.

We went over this not long ago. Some links to refresh everyone's memory.

http://forums.f13.net/index.php?topic=7171.35 - F13 Thread with lots of info on Loudant/Nuanced

http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/78589/page/1 - Original return of mourning thread (lots of good info)

http://www.myspace.com/benkorb - Now cleaned up myspace of Loud Ant's (Origina) CEO. (It seems they have changed to some unknown guy now.)

LINK REMOVED (VIRUS ALERTS AT MYSPACE PAGE) - Now private myspace of nuanced's owner. I guess you can't see all the stuff about drugs and his job as a DJ.

http://shp.shortweb.com/benkorb.htm - Backup of (the original) Loud Ant CEO's original myspace.

If you check out the address of Loud Ant you will find that it's an old residential apartment building about to be converted into condos. I guess you should list it again if you think a bunch of drunk/high kids with little experience can put together a mmorpg. Of course it was also proven that these guys are just a front for the romanians who are still on board. When it was pointed out they quickly shutdown their forums. These guys are liars, and I never expect to see anything out of them.

http://number45.deviantart.com/ - Possibly the new CEO. Check out the next link and pay attention to the "45" stuff.

http://krelslibrary.org/emails.html - This happened in June so i guess Ben was replaced shortly after all that info about him was posted.

    EDIT BY ADMIN:
MrBoots your link to the myspace page was removed as users were reporting a Trojan Virus alert on that page.

We are looking for highly skilled programmers who are up for a challenge. Looking For *C++ Programmers *Tools Programmers *Debug Programmers *Server Programmers Experience Preferences *Work with object oriented programming *More than 2.5 years of C/C++ Programming *Use of CVS/SVN *Game Development Experience preferred *Game Development Experience with networking included preferred *Massive Online Gaming Development would be a plus The rewards for participating are as follows: Anyone that works on the game gets a commercial license of our game engine.

Upon commercial launch of the game, we will give five programmers a total of twenty-five percent of game earnings. We have 42,000 registered users awaiting the games release so this 5 percent a piece will add up to a nice sum of money rather quickly. 5 programmers will also have a fulltime job at Loud Ant software on commercial release of the title. We currently have 10-15 programmers already working on this project who are employees of Loud Ant Software. We are only look for 5-10 more. EDIT: oops added linky

Wow I feel sorry for anyone that fell for that. Maybe they will get a free T-Shirt at least. The engine is total crap, and you can license something better for much less.  I wonder how long till they put up a donation link, and a merchandise shop.

I still think it's vaporware, or at the very least it will be released in a very unfinished and unplayable state like Roma Victor.

At first when it was being devoloppoed by Romanians the ideas were great, the game seemed awesome, and the graphics seemed pretty nice from the more recent screenshots before the first time they canceled.
It was oriented to pvp but with some original ideas for pve as well.
They saw that the game wasn't ready when it was released, so they decided to bring the servers down and work some more on the game first, but the american company that was allied with them was not working on the game, they were only funding it because the Romanians didn't have enough money, and those americans decided not to fund it anymore because they thought it wasn't worth it.

Then, an american company bought the licence, and the game started looking like a Everquest clone.
("Let's follow the recipe guys, let's be retards and copy what others do and add our little touch, it's FOTM so it has to be good!  People prefer pve and graphics, so let's favor pve and leave pvp and gameplay farther behind.")

Then, luckily, this retarded company had to give up. (I forgot why, but other than making the game look prettier, the rest hindered the game.)

Well I think it's sad that no other Romanian is working on it now.  I don't know about these two romanians that nobody seems to like, I don't know what they did, but the rest of the Romanians who worked on it at first, brought great ideas, and seemed competent.  And they were Romanians for god sake, how many romanian MMORPGs did you see yet?  Romanians would bring a touch of difference in the game.  I'm tired of always seeing the same thing everywhere...
And I know the game won't be as good as it could have been because now the americans will probably degrade the quality of the game even further, but I hope the new guys won't be as bad as the last company who tried.  I hope they will favor pvp, and do it like, or almost like how the Romanians wanted it at first.  And I hope they will follow the original ideas.  WoW sucks.  It's popular because it's made by Battlenet.  Everquest is a pve game, pve players like it, pvp players don't.  How about you guys make THE PvP MMORPG that Mourning was supposed to be...  Forget the traditional recipe...  The game seemed perfect with the original ideas, then the americans stopping funding it, and then again americans thinking graphics and PvE are the only things that matter, made this game worse and worse.

I will give this game a try, there's still hope that it could be a good game, like it should have been at first, but I still fear that the americans will ruin it and follow the traditional recipe of "PvE first, PvP second" because they're scared of differences.

But on the other side, they're a new company with no past, so we can't predict what they'll do even though they're american.  Maybe they'll lack experience.  Or maybe they'll be great.  Since there's no past to be based on, we can't judge yet, no matter what happened with the two previous companies.
I hope they will be great, and different from what all the other americans up to date ...removed from this game.

"You won't be seeing any pre orders being taken unless it is through a notable publisher/distributor."

Gee, what happened to "We will never ask for pre-orders or any money upfront before we put the game out."

I'm not gonna say I told ya so. I'm just gonna wait for the sh*t to hit the fan eventually.

EDIT: By the way Admin, since MMORPG.COM was promised they wouldn't take ANY pre-orders, you might get them to explain the "unless" part::::20::

  • ORLYORLY Member Posts: 29

"MMORPG.com was provided with resumes of each of the developers to confirm this."

should be end of story right there....you can hate all you want but the facts are the facts are the facts.. they have a team of professional devs that have worked on plenty of other bigger mmog's before.

and that craig list post is a complete forgery made by people who have way too much time on their hands..I mean it's so obvious its almost funny. who would actually care about doin sometihng so stupid? they must have 0 life.

"The engine is total crap, and you can license something better for much less."

I am sure you were given access to look at all the code and decide (which you could never do anyway unless you have maybe 10 years of professional coding experience) before you came up with that huh?  don't talk out of your ass.. it just makes you look like a complete hater..seriously.

Heh, I can type out glorious reumes showing that I and my friends all have extensive backgrounds in quantum mechanics and nuclear fission. Guess what? Doesn't make it true and doesn't qualify me to run or build a nuclear reactor. So the resumes don't impress me one bit.

Do you have any way of proving that post is "a complete forgery"? No, you don't. Any more that LoudAssSoftware can prove they are not the same old crapmasters from the first and second incarnations of this crapfest "game".

Still waiting to here how they spin themselves out of the back-up from their original proclamation of no pre-orders ever being taken to an "unless" this happens. I cannot tell MMORPG.COM not to have them here. MMORPG.COM is only doing what it can from a business sense to be fair. I respect their position in this, although I disagree with LoudAssSoftware and Mourning getting any more press than they deserve.

Zorvan, you have just made yourself look worse than him. Actually after reading your post i just had to click your user info to see your age and to my shock it said 33, after a post like that i find it extremely hard to belive that you are an adult. Chill out, no point freaking out like that especially over somthing so little, from reading other posts by you i would have expected better from you.

Anyway, back on topic. Im giving the team a chance and i hope they do well, this is the type of game iv been waiting for, for a long time and if they do pull it off 100% legit then i will play it. I really hope they are legit and that they do well, it would be a terrible shame for all of these ideas to goto waste.

ToC will be back? Excellent, it will be fun to see how many idiots fall into that same crap all over again

  • query0102query0102 Member Posts: 57

Either you play a game or you don't, haven't you better things to do than chasing your tail debating the same things over and over.

Try the CB / OB , see how you like it, maybe there will be a trial too. Check out the refrences if and when it launches, do a background search of the publisher etc ... if you really give a crap.

Only time will tell. We should give them the benefit of doubt and await a free trial. I don't think anyone who frequents this board would even consider a pre order from any type of distributor period.

As long as they don't ask for credit card information. Beta , free trial or whatever, just don't give them your credit card number until after you have tried it and decide it's worth paying for.

Pop over to the Horizons forum if you don't think that can be a problem.
