well every game has a lvl grind, city or heros/villians i would say doesn't really have a lvl gind but there isn't weapons or armor in those games.  If you want a room to do what you want with eq2 is one but the gameplay is less then par

I would suggest DDO but that wont last you more than 2 months. fun but short.

I think your best bet at this point is EQ2. I played and liked it. Tho there will be some grind to do. Not as much as WoW and FF tho, tho i do like both of those.

EQ2 has houses you can decorate, a lot of equipment, and coll places to explore

I played Everquest 2 and altho I liked the game what turned me off was the retarded inflation in the economy. The market is so overly inflated that you won't be able to afford to buy anything especially if you are a caster because all your books and spell scrolls are priced beyond your reach. Yes you will be scraping and be poor as a rat in your first 30 levels until you hit the higher level zones and earn your first plat which you will be spending to upgrade all your spells then you will be poor again.

Also for some reason my 3.2Ghz, 2GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1900 GT rig runs EQ2 like crap.

If you like exploraiton and no level grinding then try Eve-Online.  Its a space based mmo though.

Just ended my acct with Wow and Im trying out EQ2 trial. I too have a fast machine and its seems EQ2 is laggy. Is this the case? So far I have made 4 lvl 10's on both Freeport and Qeynos to get an idea of the classes.

But, so far my biggest concern is the lag...its very hard to RP when my world is prone to epileptic attacks. So, my question(s) is/are: Is Trial Island a seperate server thus a bit laggy for trial accts?  Are the servers all victims of this lag monster? Are there servers that are less laggier than others? Getting a lag spike once every hour would be tolerable but, once every 15 min would drive me to eat my monitor and push my box through a wall.

    TY for any input.

Hmm nope i havent had any lag in EQ2. Try turning the graphics down, there is a lot of stuff u can edit in the video section.

Also you can try switching to a different instance. There are several seperate servers running one zone at a time.

It may be that trial Island is running in a single instance and is too crowded, or perhaps Sony has a less powerful server running that island.
