another rigged contest,if ur gonna give all of the so called free betas to the post whores,then why even have a contest,thats what happened,pretty crappy.

    Be glad you even get a chance at a shot at a beta. Before places like this, you had to know someone to get your hands on a beta. I would like to thank the MMORPG staff for even offering such contests. I have not won a contest yet, nor do I think I will, but I am glad I get the shot at one.

    Its because they visit the site daily and have up to five entries in the drawing. If you only sign up, register for a contest and only return on the day of the drawing, of course your odds will not be as high as the "post whores". There should be an extra benefit to those who actively support this site.

    I agree, if have entered the contest and i think that i won, but i am no "post-whore". I am just glad to win because it is the first contest i joined

    I only just joined up a few days ago while searching for info on the game. I knew my chances would be slim, but it was still fun to wait and see. No hard feelings to anyone. This is a popular game, the sign up list was probaly huge, and most everyone seems to be a vet of these boards. Just a couple of weeks (wich my grades could us free for improvment) and we will all be super heros. image

    I remmember back in the day of IGN dot com. They had thousands of contests and i would regist for each one and i was doing like 22 contests at a time ever month, and i never won one. And now finaly after spending years on the CoH forums and not getting into beta cause of a junk mail filter...i can now fnialy hop in.

    I'm at this site 10-20 times a day,lol  Nah,never had a chance to win regardless.keep believing that crap

    10-20 times a day for the last 3 weeks apparently judging from your Join date...

    The contests are completely random, post count has no affect on it, the only thing that affects it is logins, one per day, affects it up to a total of 5 entries in the contest. And even then it's completely random, member names are drawn by a computer program, no Admin even randomly picks names or anything, no one has any control over it other than hitting the "pick names" button or whatever you wanna call it.

    And to make it very simple, if you don't like the contests, don't like the way they're done, you don't have to participate. It's completely voluntary.

    a) to say they all have high post counts, have u acctually looked at all or any of the winners post counts? From looking at forum posts a person who was rather happy to win from what i noticed "Flamingboi" has only 27 posts.... so theres an example of a non "post whore" winning the contest.

    b)The same applys the other way around, Alphamalebsr posted about "whats it take to win" and has a relativly high post count...

    You all had an equal chance... people just got randomly picked.

      I think it's very rude and offensive to Admin to say that these contests are rigged and what not. Admin spends a lot of his free time talking to gaming companies to get beta contests, software, and even things like graphics card for you guys. What does it cost you? Nothing. It disappoints me to see people complaining about how "unfair" or "rigged" a contest is. If you knew how much work Admin did to even get these contests for you, perhaps you'd sing a different tune. All you needed to do was click a few buttons and your name went into a hat... I'm sorry for this rant but some of the responses to this contest are very immature.  To be honest, if I was Admin I'd stop giving contests if this is how some of you are going to react. If you buy a lotto ticket do you drive down to your state lottery department and demand that they give you the jackpot because it's not fair someone else won it? image

         While I am moderately disappointed that I didn't win, I'm happy for those who did. 

         And the contest is what originally pointed me in the direction of the site, which I've found interesting and helpful.

         Finally, I don't think it will be horribly much longer before the pre-orders are let into the beta.. the release date is set for roughly six weeks from now, and this is just speculation but I think they will let us in at least 2 weeks before release.  I hope, anyways. 

         That's my 2 cents.  image

    i think what it is is those who have added more to the development of the game eg by posting on the froums should get the chance to test the game but it is unfair to a certain extent because if someone is just randomdly posting then they will get it which is unfair but i think that if you comment a lot on games issues then you should be allowed to be a beta tester

    Posts in no way shape or form have any impact on the contest, only the number of days you log on (max of 20 count, 5 days = 1 entry) has an sort of effect on your entries in the contest.

    Thats where I think It was decieving.

    FromWhat I read, Every day counted as a new entry.  Not a one to 5 ratio.  So in all actuallity I had very little entrys as I've only known of this site since they actually posted it on the ofical CoH site maybe a week or two ago.

    Wish I would have known of this site longer, I like how its set up, but now I know there was not chance in hell I could have made it in, so I could be sleeping instead of up at 3 in the morning.

    I just hope that made it in are here to test and not just play the game.  I remember when I was one of the first 500 in SWG we made every test count and pushed through A lot of bugs.  By the time they started letting in just about everyone it became a free test for your average joe, and I think very little people actually were interested in making the game better and just wanted a coupkle of free months to play.

    All I have to say is make sure you do your part to test.  I want this game to be good when I get in and since I cant do my part to help, those that can make a difference.... better do just that.

    I'm sure I speak for many when I say that I really appreciate this site. It is a wealth of information about MMORPG's, all located in an easy to access area. In addition, the contests allow everyone an opportunity to participate in the development of these forms of entertainment, including those who may not be aware of specific beta contests.  On behalf of this community, we thank you MMORPG.com for your effort.

    Hes just mad he didnt make it in.  They dont rig anything.

     

     

    If its true that when you drop a cat it lands on its feet or if you drop toast it lands butter-side down... what happens if you strap toast to a cats back and drop it?
