Which to pre-order, L2 or CoH?

I cant decide which game to pre-order, L2 or CoH.

DAoC and EQ were my favorite games.

Lineage II is what I pre-ordered. I have no desire to play in a City made up of 90% Super Heroes, 10% bystanders.

It comes down to these two factors. Based on this, you should be able to make you discision.

1. Which theme do you like better Fantasy or Super Hereos?

2. L2 has an pretty aweful pve, but fantastic PVP. While COH has no PVP and Fantastic PVE. So choose which is more important to you PVP or PVE?

Incase you are split among these two questoins, then ask yourself this tie breaker.

3. Customizablity is important to just about any mmorpger out there. So do you prefer to have a fully customizabile character in the begining, but your unable to change your outfit later on. Or would you prefer to have your character have little to no customability options at character gen, but have a ton of clothing options later on.

*Incase you didn't understand the first part of number three refers to COH, and the second part to L2.*

The answer for me is simple:

L2 = pnc

CoH = free movement.

CoH for me. Some people like pnc, but personally I don't. Actually, a better system would be like KO where you have the option.

You can SO change your costume Later on in the game. Its in the works. Has been said many times.

Honestly, neither. L2 is strictly pvp based and it's not very fun getting to a high lvl where you can actually enjoy the pvp. If you have any interest in doing quests or pve avoid L2.

CoH on the other hand may sound interesting but it seems to lack depth. You'll probably find out fast that there just isn't enough to do to make it fun past a few months of playing. Honestly I'd avoid preording anything for a few months until more information comes out about those 2 games and others.

I have yet to play CoH, so I can't really draw comparisons.

What I can tell you is how GREAT lineage 2 is.

I am going to try them both, but so far I am leaning toward Lineage 2. I am playing it in beta and its lots of fun. I'm not real big on pvp but have been enjoying the pve so far.

CoH looks like it could be a lot of fun but I worry that the genre wont work out well in a mmorg. Its kinda like the jedi thing in star wars.

I'd say COH, I'd buy it but I'm waiting for BETA on another game which I'm looking forward too. I tend to like to start mmorpgs from the beginning, I don't like joining a couple months into a game so I'll just have to read the reviews and see if I want to buy the game. If not, no problem I got 5 mmorpgs I want to try out this year.

I have been in closed beta for L2 for sometime i really enjoy it and for those who said getting to a high level to enjoy the PvP isnt fun in L2 are very wrong it is fast paced and you can hunt in groups or go solo.Also once u hit around level 10 witch doesnt take too long at all u can already ahve much fun with the PvP. Although i havnt played CoH i can still highley recommend L2. But I feel that they are 2 very different games so if u are into PvP L2 would be a great choice. I personally think CoH looks kinda lame but im a PvP man so what do i know.

I absolutely refuse to buy a pnc game myself.

Now you can tell me of saving bandwidth and having 10,000 on same server using pnc movement.

But,as far as I am concerned I rather play with 2,000 on a server then 10,000 if it means getting rid of pnc.

Plus pnc to me should have died with the 90s.

But thats just my view .Some say they are ok with pnc and some even said they prefer it.So down to taste.

So basically L2 and wish are out for me.So going for CoH i guess.Not got time for 2 games anyhow.

So I just played Linage 2 and well I really really did not like it. I saw people named LadyxXx and other leet names i mean really A high elf with that name or anything like that is just bad. I really can't stand the controls. NO one would help me with questions. everone was just about selling things in the commen window insteed of the trade window. No one would hlep me so i am not sure. but no new magic for 7 lvls. Boring. PnC was bad. I want to click somewhere but I stop if a tree is in front of me. like a elf would not know to step around the tree. Tho a Dwarven Char might have this problem.. Tho the game was VERY VERY pretty. I will give it that. felt like i was playing a cartoon. It seems to me the Graphics are what Ragnorok was trying to be. I got that fee. anyways. I uninstalled it. Anyone want my beta account your free to it. Send me a privit.

don't you guys get sick of the same MMORPG i mean,if you go with lineage 2,mine as well play ac2 or something,why dont you get a MMORPG thats actually differ from others *hint CoH hint* ,overall i think CoH will do better,and just becuz they say they dont have pvp in CoH doesnt mean they wont implement it later on ,so i say CoH

ummm... chronicrick... not really trying 2 flame u or nothin but ur last statement just made no sense at all...

u replied to somebody saying we need new genre's and its cool that CoH is doing something new, with "thats why WoW is going to be so cool"...

how is WoW anything new ROFLMFAO

anyways Lineage 2... its fun, its easy, great PvP, free updates (which are large and plentiful), alot of class diversity (especially after they add the lvl 60 class change), great graphics, awesome sound (especially with the adding of the music in prelude/chronicle) and its the pre-qual to the biggest MMORPG in history... CMON lol

oh not to mention ALOT of the little complaints im seeing about the game are either A: fixed in the next 1-2 updates (which are going to be here by P2P) or B: not really complaints at all (by this i mean if u actually looked hard enough, or leveled up a bit more, u would find its not a problem at all)...

im not saying CoH wont be a great game (its co-created by the same company behind L2/L1 and the upcoming Guild Wars just so u know =P) but IMO, compared to Lineage 2 it probably wont come out on top... oh not to mention im a HUGE PvP fan (not PK... PvP... there's a difference) and having to choose between two games, one of which is 100% about PvP, the other having no PvP... take a guess which one im gonna choose

How about not pre-ordering?

People complain so bitterly about how MMOGs are released when they're not ready. Why should any company worry if they have large quantities of preorders? They're guaranteed a retail landfall, and the sooner they release the sooner they collect.
