    Then with that list I'll stick with Magician, but I do prefer Ranger's in EQ1.

    Most well rounded class, Foraging, Duel Weld, Bow (+ to Archery), Druid spells.  1 of the best classes in the game.

    My highest character in EQ1 is still my Mage, but that cause I left when EQ2came out and only have been back for 1 to 2 month stints since.

    I like playing the wizard the best. They are good to play alone or with a group. They are powerfull, but die easy so have to be carefull. Great support toon also. image

    Humm... I havent played EQ my self, but no matter what game I play, its always the mage...

    Or if not mage, then some wizard, or taoist, or what ewer is the thing in the certain game that has all kinda cool magicks. If game has no mages, or things similar to mages, I wont play it. ^^

    And btw, If I played ever quest, Id probably play the mage. (Or if someone hits my head really hard before I start playing, I might take necromancer)

    It's better to play skills based games (like Eve Online or Ryzom).

    Im going to vote cleric even though ive never played eq1 or eq2, how ever it seams to be a healer type class which i enjoy the most. so ill vote for that!

    I think the best class for long term play in a MMORPG is some form of hybrid.  Fighting is fun and spells are fun.  If you play a class that is all one or the other, you might become bored sooner.  Imagine being a fighter for 60 levels.  Blah.

    In each game the classes have one thing in comment, none of them is 'the best'. It's what you personaly like, if they would create a great class like a mage, that has über-magic and stuff, then everyone will be a mage.

    I know guys that always play with mages, because they like that, and because they think they are the best. I prefer to have all classes, I like to have many chars.
