Anyone know why exactly Blizzard moved their release back from November 28th to January 16th?  Hmmmmm...verrrrry intereting.  image What MMO's are scheduled for release say from January 2007 until May 2007?  Vanguard released by march 2007, possibly?

Blizz seems to playing a wee little game with the creators of Vanguard here I think. After all, Vanguard has been in development for 2 years.  Just seems kinda interesting that WoW decides to forgo the Christmas shopping season for a Q 1 release ... LOL...image

i read somewhere they were struggling with implementing some of the content so they had to push it back. i don't think blizzard has to worry about vanguard or any other mmo in development, they own the market and its the other mmo's that have to worry about blizzard.

WoW has at this time several millions of paying customers.  But, will this be true say after next March?  By that time most of the level 60's will be at 70 and once again with little to do but instancing.  Could it be that there may be several that leave to try out other games this upcoming year?  After all little content has been changed much.  Could be interesting to watch things pop in the next 6 to 7 months.

Vanguard will take it's share from several older MMO's like, Lineage 2, DoAC, EQ2, GW, and of course that heavy weight, Warcraft image  Folks are just naturally curious.  And, hopefully, if they hold true to their word and release in Q1 of 2007, then there could be quite a storm brewing ahead for some of the aforementioned games.

You are kidding yourself if you think Blizzard gives a rat's arse about Vanguard. The games aren't in the same league numbers wise and they aren't directed at the same players.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

I think it is you who are kidding yourself. Blizzard very much cares about what is being released in Q1. Not only Vanguard but the variety of MMO's slotted to release.

If Blizzard had released the expansion in Nov, by the time Q1 rolled around everyone would be 70, done all the instances, and be bored again. Cause, lets face it, Blizzard and adding content dont go well together. With reaching the "new" level 70, players would start to say "I wonder how these other games are? I'm as high as I can go in WoW, why not try something else." But... with waiting till Q1 to release the expansion players are now faced with "Well, Vanguard looked really cool but I've already put time into WoW and the new expansion has some cool stuff to it..." They have now posed a problem to their player base and it is one that works to their advantage.

This, to me, is a good marketing move. Wether they really did have issues with the expansion or they are just waiting, either way I think it is to their advantage.

If Blizzard is playing games it is most likley with LOTR as LOTR is scheduled to be released in March and its playstyle is a lot like that if WoW.  Any game released near the time of WoWs expansion will have a very hard time getting its message  out as WoWs hype will likely drown out everything else.

Even though Sigil said March it will not release the game in March.  The 1st quater stuff is only to capitialize on the Christamas rush.  Vanguard will be out between Summer and Fall.  Anytime earlier would be suicide on their part.  They are not that stupid to release such an unfinished game.  LOTR on the otehr haand is a very polished and well done game right now.  It will eb interesting to see how it does.

If anyone should know the hazards ofd releasing an unplished game next to anotehr game that is polished and fun it should be SOE.  Blizzard set SOE up and waitreed for them to annaounce thier release date and then announced thier open beta ton start a few days before EQ2s release effectively killing EQ2 foir good.  SOE by now should have learned their lesson not to mess with WoW or any other polished game as it will just make thier game look much worse in comparison and cripple its chance of any sales.

Vanguard is an amazing game and they ae building a huge complex world unlike anything we have ever seen in an MMO there is just no way it can get everything done in time for a MArch or April release.  They would be best seerved by pushing the release back until xmas nest year but that is unlikley.  A summer or Fall release seems much more likely.  But releasing this game in MArch or April would just doom it the EQ2 SWG scrap heap of what could have been.

Yeah , whatever - Blizzard is worried 0% about Vanguard - they have the cash to release when they are ready - period - Vanguard now "has" to release even with major things stripped out as a certain recent post that got taken down shows

Myself and a couple friends who were looking forward to Vanguard now after a couple months of shall we say , insider access , have decided to hell with it - it's going to be a major letdown to many folks - and a polished game like WoW with a new expansion inc would not bat an eye at VG - the only game forseeable to draw a decent amount away from WoW will likely be Warhammer -

If they actually wanted to cut into Vanguards sales due to any concerns they would (and easily could with the $$ they have ) wait until VG announced an official launch date - and then Blizzard announce the same one - they could literally cut the buyers by 50% of those just thining of picking up VG to try

And honestly after the steaming pile I have seen VG turn into I would be quite amused if they would do this

Can't wait till the NDA comes down (which SOE/Sigil plans to do no time soon as anything more than a week before launch will let the word get out)

But I'm sure there are still people out there like me who hate WoW and what it and its community stand for so much that they would buy Vanguard just to play something that isn't like WoW, the MMO with training wheels.
