No, its all spears, swords, shields and helms for now.  Some of the first player crafted armor was recently made, items are difficult to craft and require high skills.  The game has only been released for a few months now.

There has been a demand for ranged combat in the forums, but the developers have not released a timeline for upcoming updates, so nobody knows when it be added.

Tracking, Hiding and Sneaking are on the skills list, but not implemented yet either.

Jetjon I think you mean hundred of years?

anyways here is the story of the founding of Rome, in latin.

    Uterque
iuvenis nomen novae urbi dare eamque regere cupiebat. Sed quod gemini erant nec
res aetate decerni poterat, auguriis usi sunt. A Remo prius visi sunt sex
vultures. Romulo postea duodecim sese ostenderunt. Uterque ab amic

oh, cool havent seen that in latin yet.

much more detailed that way, i stand corrected it was  a fledgling
citystate for hundreds of years before it had enough power to actualy
    take things over.

the Roman republic only controlled the italic panecula untill the
comming of ceasar. that is, Gaul, Aegyptus, Germania, Estrucia and
britania were not a part of the Republic, and is some cases were
hostile to it, in the year 65BC, that is after nearly a thousand years
the republic was still only in italy. it took the work of one man, a
greater general and politician than any before (and arguably after) his
time, when Cesar lead his armys as far north as Hadrians wall (the
location of the game world) over the rhinnein and into judea. where he
politicked to bring aygyptus into the republic as wel las estrucia. is
assasination kicked off the civl war that transformed the weaker
    republic into the powerful empire.

Actually the story written by Livy is the Legendary founding of Rome. Has nothing to do with the empire at this time, and it takes a few Kings before they start expanding. The Sories that follow that deals with teh Kings that follow, so this is pre republic time.

Here is a nice picture of the development of the empire.

starts off in BC and then moves to AD

Sure its slow, I'll give you that at least but look at this game now compared to where it was little over a year ago and you'd think otherwise. They've improved this game very much!

Normally I buy a game and I'm done with it, but I've loved this game and community so much that I went out of my way to donate over $40 to it.

Please, don't judge it by its cover.. I know I did until I got a Beta invite and I figured ah what the heck its free!
I played it and I went from laughing and hating it to the point where I donated money.

    Go figure =]

Rome was founded like 1000BC, not 753BC. It was a mere farming village. Because of the Etruscans etc. it become bigger, and bigger, and bigger. It started swallowing the neighbouring 'countries/villages'. If my memory doesn't abandon me here, it was even sacked by Celts (twice?).

It was sacked by teh Gauls twice.

However there is still some debate of the founding date.
Some time in the latter republic, they started counting from the beginning of Rome.

The date most widely used today is that
calculated by Varro, 753 BC, b Dates given by this method are numbered ab urbe condita (meaning after the founding of the city, and abbreviated AUC).
