Questions from a n00b

Hi there. I've only played 2 MMORPGS, and I've heard a lot of great things about DAoC. So, can some one please answer my questions?

-How much? I hate it when a good game is $15-$20 a month.

-Are the characters customisable at the begining? I don't really like having to wait till I'm Level 40 to make my character look diffrent from every one else.

-How goods the interface? Not to complicated I hope...

Well thats all. So, if any one could answer, please do :-)

Okay, I no longer play but I loved DAoC and had some great times!

Used to cost like $10 per month... not too sure on that now.  Plus you'll need to buy two expansion for the game to be worth it: Shrouded Isles ans Trials of Atlantis.

Characters  physical looks are totally customizable, but armor, clothes etc are not until you can make enough to purchase, get drops, make it yourself, etc.

The interface is simple.  You'll have no problem picking that up.

Have fun (Go Midgard) If you play Midgard-Merlin ask about Sevinis and Rezcuer :) Those were my toons.

-I have played DAoC for a couple years now. The praise you heard about DAoC is merrited. I love this game.

-I think the price is about $11.95 per month if you sign up for a 3 month contract.

-As far as customizing your character in the beginning, you can change your characters face, height, sex, hair style and color and their starting stats. The customization leaves a bit to be desired though. You can customize the color or your armor with dyes and enamels.

-About the interface... It can't get much more simple than this. Its a great interface, very easy to understand. You should have no problem just jumping into the game. Reading the manual a bit(as with any game) will help a little.

-Don't bother buying Trials of Atlantis until you have a character of atleast level 40+ It would be a wast of your money if you bought it and quit the game before you got to use it. You won't be going to ToA until the higher levels anyway.

If you do decide to get DAoC I hope you love the game as much as I do. A good Hib server is Morgan LeFey, if you want to be an Alb play on Igrain. I don't know enough about the good Midgard servers to recommend one to you, you'll have to ask around about that. Have fun!

Remember you save more money overall when subscribing for longer packages, which can be nice. However you should also keep in mind if you will actually be playing a particular game for three or six months. If you are unsure I would recommend you try a one-month subscription, try it out for a while, and change your subscription renewal plan to a larger one if you believe you will be staying longer.

By the way, please note that money displayed is in US Dollar unless specified otherwise.

Yes, Max is correct. That would be a good plan. Although I believe that you still get your first month free when you create a new account.(not sure about that anymore) If this is still true then you can cancle your account before the 1st month is up and not pay anything.  Thank you for clearing the money thing up too Max
