Darkfall, Will it ever be released?

Darkfall has been in development for more than 5 years now, and isn't even in the public beta stage yet. I'm just wondering if the graphics in the game will be outdated by the newer games that are coming out. The game sounds great, loads of skills and spells, and pvp. What are your thoughts on the game?

I just looked at the screenshots, the graphics don't look too bad. Also, are you absolutely sure it's been in development for five years? If so, it's probably being developed by only a few people. Most games take a few years to develop, but they could've cancelled this altogether...

and chances are when it does get released no1 will care lest the DF fanbois, probably because itll end up being released when a half decent pvp game comes out (AoC / WAR)
the devs can slack on content , gameplay, performance, graphics so long as they are UO incarnate and deliver "hardcore pvp" to their fanbase
That takes me back.... Shadowbane vs. Darkfall .. OMGZ we gonna pwn you , our game is so L33t and so uber pvp ... 5 years later .. uh we are gonna pwn you , if we ever get there O.o
Use to love watching the Darkfall kiddies attack the Shadow , Lineage 2 and Dragon Empire ... Man those were the day you could pin all your hope on a developer and watch the boards for nugget of information, I dont think many sites were reporting on development as they do now.
If it comes out we will all be in wheel.
I remember Dragon Empires...I had the gameplay/CGI trailer for that memorized to a T. Out of all the mmo games i've ever anticipated...i was truly saddened to hear that one go down.
Years ago when i still followed Darkfall, I would've died to have seen it get cancelled but at the moment i dont really care one way or the other. But in my opinion I think it'll be released...*crosses fingers*

How can anyone say how great the game will be unless they have played it already. I know that you can have a certain feeling about a game, but after 5+ yrs and still no beta.....
I hope the game has good pvp, if it does I will put down my money like many other people and enjoy playing it.
Darkfall the only real game (if it comes out)
If it turns vapor or is just another D&L, i can quit MMORPGs for good and save a lot of time to do other things. I will NOT play another shitty MMORPG with single player game mechanics (means dumbed down player interaction aka PVE-item grind game for kids).
I think once it has reached Beta then it can be something like 6 months till it is released. Currently not in Beta so really would have to be first half of next year. If not, then it is probably not going to release.
My thoughts on this game? That it's going to be an unmitigated disaster like Dark and Light was. It will launch buggy to the point of brokeness, missing a great deal of the features that are supposed to be in the game, without enough content, and with serious server stability issues.

Actally it does, considering the lenth of time Darkfall has been 'in production' and the 'hype' behind it, i'm kinda thinking they may do what D&L (and Cape Dem (sp)) did and put a 'if you pre-order you get beta access'. Which generally means the game isn't as good even tho they have had a long time to perfect it and if they OB it it will not be 'as' profitable in the long term...
