The change is not the worst thing in the world, but I like the old layout much better. The silver headers are rather unpleasant, and it makes the layout look a little cluttered. I also don't like the way the forums look now. The game info pages are pretty good and offer more information on the main page, but again, I like the older version better. I hope this isn't a permanent change. It's not that I could never get used to it, but it's a bit of an eye-sore in my opinion.
Not diggin' the new layout. The blue... kinda corny. The logo.... yeah, also corny. And the bright yellow for Quick Jump and Orange for the tabs... eeewwww......

In fact, I had to look twice, no, three or four times to figure out if I was at the real deal or one of those wannabe sites. I dislike everything from the logo to the tabs to the colors and fonts used.

The facelift of mmorpg.com isn't ugly or confusing but it doesn't seem to improve the useability of the site, so I'm not sure why you changed it; the old layout was busy and text-heavy but in a facsinating way that projected authority, the kind that the staff member above thinks he has but doesn't. Now, the site projects a we're-just-another-PHPesque-gamer-website look. Maybe it's the contrast. When a site's background color is primarily black it is best to color large graphical elements, like the seperator bars and tabs, in a pleasing but low-contrast color, and white ain't it. Or maybe it's that new logo. I'm wondering what it's suppose to mean. I guess I can see the shapes of the letters R and P. People will get used to to anything, though. But, why is the light source that is supposed to be shining on it coming from the right? Usually, the light source comes from the left, but you've also got graphical elements with their light source at 90 degrees.
Last thing: some versions of non-Microsoft browsers handle the ads badly. That could have a lot to do with my prefered settings, though. It works as expected in MSIE.

I agree. The most frustrating thing is the bright base colors.
Love the new look. In fact, I love the new look so much that Im now making MMORPG.com my other homepage so when I fire up IE and/or Firefox the two pages that load will be Netvibes and MMORPG

I am one of those type of people who hates change. I am perfectly happy with a website looking the exact same now as it did 3 years ago when I started using it. Why? Because with redesigns comes stuff being moved all around and placed nowhere near where it was. However, I have to say, i do like the redesign. It looks more modern and yet still has a sort of simplistic look that i love on sites. I do ponder though if this is all just cosmetics or will there be things implemented that called for a redesign to fit them in.
Now comes the paragraph you wont like . I dont like the colors. They dont blend at all and just seem to be too contrasting. There's green everywhere and it's popping off the page with blue and dark blue backgrounds. Design is good. Colors? I dont love. Will you make themes in the future?
But cheers on rolling out a new design and hope for new features

I actually have one of those tilted-head-dog-looks going right now.
This really falls under the "If it wasn't broke, don't fix it" kinda catagories.

Well, ive been a professional designer/artist for 18 years now...
and no, horrible...
Very amateurish and if you paid a 'designer' to do this, I would be asking for my money back.
It has all the hallmarks of a web programmer saying 'pah, designers, who needs em, I can design it AND do the functionality'
Trust me, ive been called in to supply artwork and templates when programmers get the God complex and try to do it all.
