The statement in the topic is not mine (well actually it is as well, but thats not the point). Its a statement that has been made by some of the most die hard EVE fans.

but i also think that it helped that it was against WoW, becuause a lot of people who dont like WoW most likely just voted against it in everything
ya that makes sense if its their first mmo, but still its just really ironic because EVE doesnt have the best PVE by any means

Also, I'd be willing to bet that most people voted for eve in the PVE category because it's so open ended. You can do what you want instead of having to go out and grind away on spiders or whatever.

Honestly I don't understand the fuss, I find all fantasy PvE boring because I find that killing rats and mass killing unicorns to be very gay. Lvl 4 missions are no more boring or tedious than killing 10,000 faries to gain a level, in fact I find them alot more interesting than going on a gnome killing rampage in the magical forest of frolicking bears! Each to his/her own I suppose, and the majority of voters voted for EVE.
BTW did I mention that EVE cures cancer?

Eve actually ahs a Quite extensive NPC component comprising of severall factions controlling different shifting regions with different loot types per faction.
There are also awide range of NPC missions [Quests] And there are Cosmoss constelations which are similar to NPC missions exept tyhey are a lot more extensiove a lot harder and ahve better loot.
Then there is the exploration content where you ahve to use scan probes to just find it when you do it can erange to a asteroid belt of high end ores with guardian NPC pirates to a complex owned by a Majour Pirate coalition [NPC] which requires team work and lots of work.
Also therer are archialogical sights that have to be found too that have hidden rewards and dangers too.
Thats just the stuff thats in now. There is a lot more to come tho such as the Massive asteroids with cave systems to explore.

No matter how much I like this site...I have to admit...that EvE as PvE...hehe, that is funny.
But well, if the site has 90% of the players in EvE, this mean 27k users...if they are all actively voting...haha, the thought of peoples in EvE talking about going on the MMORPG.com to vote just aroused! Can you see the week news on the servers: Don't forget to go vote for EvE in PvE!!!!
I also vote WoW all the time it confront EvE and was the only option, even if I personnally think WoW lack, it has my vote when the only contender is EvE. Hehe.
How does EvE fans call the PvE initial area? Maybe we should tease admin by "renaming" his site as such, like saying MMORPG.com is area 1.0 by 1.0 or whatever way that EvE uses to identify areas, but it recall me Trade Wars on the BBS honestly. Hehe.
EvE has best in everything? *grin evilly* yeah right! I don't mind when it stay remotedly believable...but best PvE? I mean, to be best PvE, you first require a PvE crowd, and here on this site, PvE fans are already quite scarse...so mostly, PvP fans (EvE fans) say that best PvE is in EvE, it is an EvE-PvPer point of view. Just like I could say that a hamster is happier in my cage than in nature, but why don't you ask the hamsters instead?
To be the best at PvE, a game at least require to give the BEST rewards while engaged in PvE...which is NOT the case of EvE. Thereby, EvE can't even meet the qualification to be voted for, it shouldn't even be in the list. Haha. But if it please EvE fans...sure...why not...but don't ask us to believe you.

Just a quick question How long did you play eve then to evperience EvE PvE then
Personally i souriously doubt you even downloaded the trial as you seem such a WoW fanboi.
Personally i find EvE PvE more engaging than walking to some gay WoW forest to kill some Pixies.
Uhmmm... Thats why it shouldn't be considered for PvE. A good PvE game shouldn't have you take a week to discover, hey there is PvE.
The reason why it isn't good PvE is because it lacks in design for PvE. The only enemy I ever saw you can shoot at were Pirates. Always Pirates too. Pirates in the asteriod fields, minor Pirate Stronghold, Pirates holed up at some Stations Ruins, Pirates camping the jump gates. There is also the occasional hunting mission in which you can kill pirates, and deliver packages to a different station through Pirate infested territory.
Also you can't forget how engaging the combat is for a good action packed PvE experience...
If WoW can run for best PVP than there is nothing wrong with EVE running for PVP.
But seeing as how you ignore that fact and only keep posting about EVE being in the running for PVE, I think your just a troll.

Truthfully I haven't played Eve since 2005 since I was so disgusted about how boring it was, so that might be why I can't see any of that mythical PvE content. You should read the post above yours to explain the error in your post. In WoW you experience the PvE ASAP, its at end-game level 60 content that you lose the PvE content and get into predominantly social content like PvP and raiding.
When I look at PvE, I look at how accessible artificial enemies are, also if hunting pirates can earn a living, then how engaging the universe's story is at drawing the player in, and ofcourse how good the combat is. When I played eve, I would have to hyperdrive to a spot a small group of enemies hang out, then take a 5 minute trip at impulse to get in range to fire at ships no bigger then a few pixels. When I fire at them, it is like playing with Node Linking in Maya; only less interactive. Then impulse my way so I can get close enough to a container and loot it, usually taking another 2~3 minutes. Not to mention, in the 10 minute fight I had with 1 enemy, I made 1/10th the amount I would make of a quick Vesper Run. Also you can't forget how connected the universe is, I don't actually have to leave the station after I jump away from the tutorial to become skilled. I only have to come back when my skills become trained on thier own.
If you wanna see pve in a sci-fi theme, you shoulda played Star Wars Galaxies pre-NGE.

Not 1 million SP, it became quite clear to me shortly after I tried the trial once more ( I take a new trial after every major expansion update by EVE. I like the concept of EVE, it is just not executed in the way I personally think is right). And it became quite clear to me that the things that I think make EVE's PVE weak are still there.Great, now that we all agree on that lets go have tea and biscuits!

Which BTW is deliberetly limeted so you cant access all the content anyway. Its a bit like saying a game like Everquest is crap because i couldnt access all its content within a few days on a trial account.
So basically your opinion on eve counts for very little then.
